Chapter threeAhh Friday night. The perfect night to forget all the stress and madness that goes on at school. From going to parties, to getting drunk, to dancing till your thighs get sore, it sure was one of the many nights that almost every teenager awaits patiently.
Not me.
I looked at my two best friends checking themselves out in the mirror, each in their favorite tiny little dresses covering little to no skin that I would never dare wear. They looked fabulous, then again, it was Friday night, that wouldn't last long.
By the end of that stupid party, their makeup will be smeared all over, their hair a literal mess, their legs will give up on them and then eventually they'll pass out. Some of the many reasons why I don't go to parties.
The list goes on, I can't dance to save my life, I can't handle my alcohol and I surely don't look forward to talking to people. I just thought parties were stupid. But these words might be complete nonsense to other people, coming from an introverted, anti-social teenager.
But that was beside the point.
As Elena straightened her hair, Melanie applied what seemed like the hundredth layer of mascara on her eyes.
"Give your lashes a break Mel, they're gonna fall off." I remarked.
"They're fake ones anyway." She shrugged.
That girl couldn't really care any less about anything in this world.
"Fuck!"
I looked over to Elena, only to see her sucking on her thumb.
"Stupid straightener! Why'd you have to be so hot!" She stomped her foot.
I shook my head and led them to the kitchen downstairs, where she could put some ice on her burn.

After her mini rant about how awful straighteners were, Elena finally stood up from her seat and clapped her hands together, "Alrighty then! I guess we should get moving."Melanie nodded her head yes, and I followed them to the front door.
El turned to me and said with a sad look on her face, "You sure you're not coming? I mean we still have time to find you a dress and put on some make-"
"Elena...I already told you. Now go have fun and don't do anything stupid." I interrupted.
"Ugh fine. And I won't, when have I ever done anything stupid at a party?" She said in an annoyed voice.
"Multiple times." Mel said under her breath, but Elena still heard it, and smacked her on the head.
"Now out my house you go," I basically kicked them out, "Oh, and drive safely!"
"You're such a mom!" Melanie shouted as she was getting into the car.
You kinda are. The little voice in my head said.
Then I proceeded to wave them goodbye and shut the front door behind me.

I woke up to a loud noise coming from my bedside table. Wait. Is it morning yet?My eyes were still not completely focusing or even open for that matter, but I could see a strong light in front of me. What the?
The ringing was still going about...ringing? That's right my phone!
That's when I realized that the "noise" was my phone ringing.Oh, and the "strong light" was my laptop screen...so I must've fallen asleep watching Netflix.
I checked the caller ID. Jason?
"Hello?" I should've cleared my throat before answering, it was all cracked and groggy.
"Hey Sasha...um I'm probably the last person you expect a call from at 2 AM-" Wait, 2 AM? "But I kinda have a situation going on right now, um...Elena..." He trailed off.
I closed my eyes out of frustration, "She's drunk again,
isn't she?""Yeah." He answered almost immediately.
"Can you please bring her to my place? She can't go back to hers that way." I sighed.
"Problem is...whenever I try to convince her to get into the car, she gets all fighter-mode on me, and she won't even let me touch her." He explained.
"Hey I can hear you you know?!" I heard her faint voice in the back.
"Oh, and where's Melanie?" I asked.
"Who's Melanie?" He answered with yet another question.
Was he being serious?
"Ugh fine I'll come and pick her up." I huffed and hung up. I should be used to this by now.
I had predicted this would happen, when does it ever change?
Slipping out of my comfortable bed, I changed out of my pajamas and headed out the door.
On the way to this Adam guy's place, I put on some music, "Mean" , by Taylor swift was being played on the radio. Singing along to the lyrics, I sped up the pace, trying to get there as fast as possible.
As the song ended, another one came on, then another and another and it went on for a good 20 minutes. I wouldn't have minded for it to go on for a little while longer. I really enjoyed music.
Finally at the right place after two wrong stops, I took a deep breath, thinking of how hard it will be to recollect Elena and Melanie, but obviously of how much harder it will be facing Jason after not talking for a whole year.
It shouldn't even bother you that much, why are you even stressing?
The damned little voice in my head was always right. This time was no exception.
But I had no clue on how to answer her question.
