'(f/n)?' Mike asks in a concerned tone.
You eventually re-enter reality and look Mike in the eye. However you say nothing, instead you stand up and walk to your room. You can feel Mohammed and Mike's eyes watching you intensely, however you dare not to look at them. You just continue up the stairs, open the door to your room and enter it, locking the door behind you.
You crawl onto your bed and watch the large window before you, it holds the perfect sunset. The hues of pinks and blues and yellows perfectly melt into one another. But despite the beauty of Marrakesh, you can't help feeling injustice.
Paula is full of shit. She lied to you, she told you that she wouldn't hurt you, yet here you are. You want to get out of here, you will not submit to the will of Paula. You decide to be more watchful, learn all the ins and outs of your surroundings, you're going to piece together a plan to escape and you're going to find Murdoc and save him.
You hear a knock on the door, you ignore it and pretend to be asleep.
'I know you're not asleep, let me in', You're surprised as it's Mohammed's voice and you wouldn't expect him to give a shit.
You begrudgingly stand up and lumber yourself to the door, you unlock it and allow Mohammed to enter, you sit on your bed facing the sunset window and he comes and sits beside you. He observes the beautiful sunset and you notice a sense of calm in him for a moment, he then turns his head slowly to face you.
'I know what it's like to be in your shoes', Mohammed says in a slow and purposeful tone.
'You were in love with Murdoc Niccals too?' You say in a soft, light hearted way.
'Hah- no. But I have been in a situation where someone I loved was going to be away from me for a long time and I didn't know if they were going to be ok or not.'
'Were they ok in the end?'
'In a strange and fucked up way, yes'
You look at Mohammed in confusion and he puts his hand on your shoulder and proceeds to explain.
' Valorie, her name was Valorie. We grew up together'
(Mohammed POV) (Ten years ago)
Valorie is the most beautiful woman on the planet. Her hair carries the dark and mysterious abyss of space, whilst her eyes carry the essence of starlight. But never mind her external being, her soul is what's most stunning. Her soul is a bright and fiery star, it carries enough energy and power to run a galaxy.
But there's a problem, with such a force as Valorie, I don't know what to expect. Valorie is so beautiful and amazing, yet I never know if she's going to burn out. Valorie carries the burden of a galaxy on her shoulders and is always on the verge of a supernova. I never know who or what might cause her to burnt out.
Valorie is a self destructive force. She feels that existence is pain. She no longer wants to carry the galaxy on her shoulders, she no longer wants to fight. Valorie's life is no longer bright, it's now grim and dark.
Her days consist of alcohol, sleep and small white pills.
She now carries such a meaningless existence, she's now allowed them to dilute her fire.
Valorie is a dying star.
(F/N POV) (Back to now)
'Valorie was incredibly intelligent. This caused her to feel very alone and fall easily into depression. So I took her to the doctors and she was diagnosed and given medication. I thought this would eventually make her better, so I stuck around. I tried to help her, day in day out. But her suicide was inevitable, I don't think she was meant to exist on this planet. I think she was designed to be somewhere else, I think she's somewhere in the universe now and is at peace.'
You watch Mohammed in shock as you didn't know he was capable of being so dedicated to someone else and viewing such a sad situation from that perspective. Mohammed removes his hand from your shoulder and places it on his lap, you notice a single tear run down his face.
'Did you love her?' You ask in a gentle tone.
'Yes, and I still do. I can't accept the idea that she no longer exists, she will always carry my heart and hold it, right on the palm of her celestial hand'
You're unsure what words to say to convey your admiration for Mohammed's gentler side, so instead of communicating verbally. You pull his huge and muscular body into a hug. Mohammed turns to you and buries his head into your shoulder. You both remain there and have a moment of silent understanding. You feel comfort and a sense of familiarity in your embrace, you feel safe as though Mohammed will take care of you.
You eventually break away from the hug and show each other bittersweet smiles. Mohammed stands up and walks to the door, his figure being lit by the evening sky.
'Good night (f/n)' Mohammed says- smiling- before opening the door and leaving.
You feel a sense of peace now, so you turn on your lamp, prepare to sleep and lay down in bed. The night eventually carries you into slumber.
