Murdoc may have won the battle and escaped Paula, but now it's time for war. You're still unsure what Murdoc has gone through or how he's escaped, but there's no time for that. You have to prepare for the War.
You're gathered in the basement of the over the top Marrakech villa with Murdoc, Mohammed and Mike. After earning Mohammed and Mike's favour in the time you've known them, they've exchanged their loyalty to Paula to defend you and your lover. The basement is incredibly tiny, it's walls are made of a cream sort of brick, whilst the floor contrasts this and is a luxurious wood. The room is dimly lit with one flickering light that creates an ominous air. You observe the faces of everyone in the room under the single light and notice Mohammed, he seems to be thinking. You watch Mohammed look to Mike and they nod to each other as if they're exchanging some sort of unspoken agreement. You look to Murdoc and note that he's also noticed Mohammed and Mike's silent agreement. Mohammed then slowly turns around and runs his finger along the crevices of the wall till his finger slides into a small aperture. Mohammed pushes down on the hole and part of the wall folds down revealing a red button.
Mohammed pushes the button.
The four unpleasant cream walls fold upwards into the ceiling and the single light above you switches off. You feel the room vibrate in the darkness as if it's transforming and updating. Eventually you see a warm light turn on above you and look up to see a chandelier. The room reveals itself under the light. One wall is a bookshelf with several books on combat and weapons, the one beside it is a wall full of various machine guns and weaponry, the other is a plain wall with a door labeled with arabic text and the final wall is full of body armour.
'Okay So I'm gonna load everyone up with weapons and armour, Mike you're going to prepare Al-Buraq' Mohammed orders.
Al-Buraq you wonder what that is. You watch Mike pass through the door holding nothing but darkness, before Mohammed begins to throw a variety of weapons and armour to you. Eventually there are four piles of armour and weaponry. Mike enters the basement again through the door which now has a large amount of light protruding from the doors opening, he observes the pile which nobody standing behind it and immediately realises Mohammed had prepared it for him.
'Suit up ladies', Mohammed orders as he adopts an army sergeant persona.
Everyone hastily assembles their piles onto their bodies in some sort of orderly fashion, however you struggle. Murdoc notices you struggle and helps you out, you feel a wave of inadequacy and look down in shame.
'Don't worry prince/princess, there's a first time for everything', Murdoc whispers to you, leaving you with a wink.
'So Mike I know you know how to use a gun, and Murdoc I assume you do too?' Mohammed asks awaiting Murdoc's confirmation.
Murdoc nods.
'But I'm certain you (f/n) aren't familiar with a gun, even if you are it's not one of this kind. Right?' Mohammed asks in an emotionless tone.
You nod in shame. Mohammed then smiles at you as if he appreciates your innocence and then walks over to the book shelf. Mohammed hastily runs his finger along the book shelf and pulls out a small book and hands it to you.
'This will teach you quick, read it while we're in Al- Buraq' Mohammed orders.
You nod.
'Okay everyone, now follow Mike onto Al- Buraq, I'm gonna finish shutting up the basement'.
(Time skip)
You're surprised, As Buraq is an large mean looking, fast driving, loud, attack helicopter (The author's gender). You're unsure What the plan is, but you trust Mohammed as the leader. You watch Mike navigate the sky beside Mohammed and hear them mumble to each other as if they're formulating a plan. Whilst waiting you occupy your time by reading the little book that Mohammed gave you. You learn the basics and a few more skills and are satisfied. You then revert to sitting quietly and observe Murdoc.
Murdoc stares down to the floor before him in silence, he appears to be in deep thought or in recollection of a memory. But the silence in words and loudness of Al-Buraq is disrupted by Mohammed's Blaring voice. Mohammed is now standing up between the front two seats before you.
'So this is the plan. Paula will be heading to the villa, so we're not gonna wait there. We're not going to play defence, we're going to play offence. We're heading straight to Paula's lair. Mike and I know it all inside and out as we've been trained to as part of her protocol. So we're going to go there, hack her home's system and create something interesting. Sound good?' Mohammed explains.
'But why do we have weapons then?' You decide to ask as you look down the the two machine guns, grenades and knives attached to your utility belt.
'Paula is always one step ahead, she's a mad man. Mike and I initially thought she was insane, but she's just got a really accurate gut instinct. So despite the fact we have our plans, we have to be ready for Paula's.'
You nod in understanding, Mohammed then sits down. The journey continues and you sit there in angst imagining all the ways Paula could be one step ahead. You look to Murdoc and see that he's blanked out yet again. You want to know what's on Murdoc's mind you want to know what Murdoc's been through. But you can't. You're sat far apart so you couldn't discuss the matter properly. The loud sound of the helicopter would make communication difficult. You're not in a private location so Murdoc may leave out some of the details. And godammit you're about to go into war, you need to focus on that if you want it all to succeed.
So you repress your thoughts and decide to ask something productive.
'Mo, how long is it going to take to get there?' You ask.
'Total journey is 3 hours, but we've got 2 hours of the journey left.'
'Also where are we going?'
'France, Paris.'
You chuckle at the irony of how many times your plans to go to Paris with Murdoc failed, and now you had to go even if you didn't want to.
'Anything else?' Mohammed asks.
'no.'
You feel impatient as you want to finish the war, you want to move on with life after months of this lifestyle. But you can't, you sit back and cross your arm and look forward at nothing in particular in anger. Eventually the adrenaline in your bloodstream wares off and you find yourself falling asleep at the intensity of the scenario you're in.
