* Oml this story just hit over 1k views and I'm ecstatic! I'm so glad you guys are enjoying this because I enjoy writing it!
* I'm gonna start posting on my profile quite a bit more to throw around some ideas and to let you guys know when I'll be updating, so, if you're interested, consider following me. :)

My first instinct is to dart out of dōjō and pretend as if I'd never been there at all, but something stops me.

Instead, I find myself kneeling next to him and closing my eyes.

My thoughts wander, but I can't seem to push away my growing worries. I can't even meditate in this state of mind.

After a while, I stand decidedly.

"I have to go, " I tell Hanzo quietly.

"Where?"

"Home...I just...-I have to make sure they're okay. I keep thinking about what your uncle said...and I can't help but worry that-"

"-that he was trying to get you away from your village so he could target it?"

I pause, looking back at him. "...Yes."

"Then you cannot go alone, " he approaches me,"I'll accompany you."

"I-" I'm somehow surprised at his sudden willingness to help me.

"I'm coming too!" Genji jumps down from the rafters of the dōjō with a huge grin, startling me.

"When- how long have you been there?!" I exclaim.

Genji chuckles, "A while. You've got some nice jiu-jitsu moves...maybe you could show them to me sometime?" He winks.

I shake my head, with a sigh, "If you really insist on coming...meet me at the front gate in...say 15 minutes? I need to gather my things."

Hanzo nods,"I'll notify father."

I hurry out, anxious to check on my village and hoping to dispel my fears.

I change into my traditional yukata after washing up a bit, knowing that Sensei would most likely faint if he saw the modern clothing I have been wearing.

I leave my blades concealed in my bag, throwing it over my shoulder and heading out towards the gate to wait on the brothers.

Hīrā must have noticed my growing anxiety, as she appears curled around my neck, purring calmly.

I reach up and scratch under her chin, "Arigato, Hīrā."

"Damn, (Y/N)!" My loud-mouthed brother exclaims as we approach the gate, "You look like a princess!"

I start to scold Genji, but the words fail to escape me as I see her.

She stands by the gate dressed in a purple and gold patterned yukata. Her golden dragon draped around her shoulders underneath her (H/C) hair, which glistens slightly in the early morning light.

She looks like she'd stepped right off the pages of a mythology textbook -like a goddess.

"Ah, " she seems to blush very lightly at Genji's comments,"Hardly, but...thank you, Genji-san." She offers him a microscopic smile before looking at me. "Shall we?"

I nod, "Father has arranged for a car to take us."

(Y/N) looks to me, a bit stunned. "A car? We could just wa-"

"Don't tell me you walked all the way to Hanamura before!" Genji cuts her off with wide eyes. "That's like...days!"

"Well, yes..." She looks to him, seeming puzzled as to why that seems unreasonable.

"Have you...ever been in a car?" Genji continues to become more astounded.

(Y/N) uncomfortably pulls at a strand of her (H/C) hair, twisting it between her fingers, "My village has no need for them..."

"We will get there in a matter of hours." I cut in.

One of our many black cars pulls up to the gate and the driver gets out to hold the doors open.

(Y/N) sighs, seeming nervous for only a moment before covering it up. "Alright...but I don't want the villagers to see the car. We will have to walk when we are close enough."

"Very well. I will inform the driver." I motion for her to get in.

"You should take the window seat, (Y/N)!" Genji tells her.

(Y/N) still doesn't seem entirely too happy, stiffly getting in the car.

I watch as Genji shows (Y/N) how to use her seat belt, whilst not even bothering to buckle his own.

"So, what's your village like, (Y/N)?" Of course, it's Genji who breaks the peaceful silence of the drive.

(Y/N) pulls her eyes from where she had been staring out of the window. Her earlier disdain for the car seems to have fallen away, though she still seems a bit uncomfortable.

If she's never so much as been in a car, what else has she missed out on? For some reason, this thought strikes me. She doesn't seem to care, but she was staring out the window the same way she had stared out at the ocean the day we meditated together...as if she was staring at a dream.

A small smile pulls at (Y/N)'s lips. "Peaceful." I somehow expect her to say more, but she only looks back to the window, resuming our silence.

Genji squirms a bit, wanting to avoid what he probably thought was an awkward silence. But somehow, I understand: (Y/N) and I have the same appreciation for the peaceful quiet.

As we approach my village, I can't get out of this car fast enough.

I just want I know everyone is okay.

"This way, " I lead the brothers up the worn mountain path to my village.

As we approach, I wave to one of the scouts along the village's wall.

"(Y/N)-sama!" He exclaims, running off to alert the others of my arrival.

By the time the gate is opened, there's a crowd of people standing by to welcome me home.

My heart calms. They're okay. Everyone's okay.

I'm almost knocked down as Daiki barrels through the crowd and wraps his arms around me tightly.

"Woah!" I laugh softly, "It's good to see you too, Daiki-kun....-where's Sensei?"

Daiki looks up to me, his eyes filled with tears, and it feels as though my heart falls out of my chest.
