The walk back to Shimada castle was peaceful, the festival crowds having dwindled as the hour drew late and vendors began to close up their shops. (Y/N) holds to Hanzo's arm, a soft sigh escaping her lips. Whatever had happened tonight, it had been so very long since her heart had felt this light.

"Hey, wait up, you lovebirds!" Genji's voice comes up from behind.

(Y/N) expects Hanzo to drop her arm and return to his usual state at this, but he seems to be full of surprises tonight. "Genji. I hope you did not cause any trouble." There isn't any harshness in his words, more concern than anything.

Genji laughs, throwing an arm around his brother, "No more trouble than usual, promise!!"

(Y/N) smiles contently at this. A sense of fulfillment rushes over her to see them finally acting like siblings—not simply because of the promise she made to Sojiro, but because she sees herself in them.

"...-you practice swordplay, do you not, Genji?" (Y/N) strikes up a conversation. "We should spar tomorrow."

Genji sends her a grin, "Yosh! You're on!"

Hanzo starts to protest, perhaps out of slight jealousy, but the smile on (Y/N)'s face stops him. Well, maybe (Y/N) could put Genji in his place by beating him. "I will moderate," he settles.

(Y/N) raises a brow, "Oh? Then I'd like to see your proclaimed skill at the bow while we're at it."

The older Shimada's chest is suddenly puffed up with obvious pride. "Very well, then...-I owe you the favor of a defeat, do I not?"

(Y/N) laughs, "I suppose...-but perhaps I was only downplaying my skills before?" She definitely wasn't. She is hopeless with a bow, but it's fun to tease.

"Perhaps." Hanzo's lips curl into a hidden smile.

"Dude, she's gonna crush you!!" Genji exclaims amidst his laughter.

As soon as the three arrive at the gate to Shimada castle, all five dragons suddenly burst out, running around and wrestling on the castle grounds. Well, except for Hīrā, that is—she breaks up the fights when they get too rough, looking like a tired mother.

"I suppose they were getting quite restless with all the excitement of the festival," (Y/N) notes fondly as she watches them play. It's clear they're mimicking the light nature of all their souls at the moment. "Strange to think how much destruction they can bring, seeing them like this."

"Yeah, guess so...-GET 'EM SOBA! PIN 'EM DOWN!" Genji cheers his dragon on as Soba tackles one of Hanzo's dragons.

Hanzo shakes his head, his dragons so rarely being out of his control like this. Something about them all being together makes the will of his dragons much stronger, it would seem.

"Well, Genji. If you intend on beating me tomorrow, I would suggest getting some sleep," (Y/N) teases, the exhaustion of the day's activities beginning to affect her.

"HA!" Genji exclaims, "You're funny, (Y/N)."

"And if I wasn't joking?" She smirks, playfully raising a brow.

"She bested me, brother," Hanzo admits, "I would recommend not underestimating her unless you intend on being humiliated."

Genji only continues to grin, shaking his head. "Yeah, yeah," he waves dismissively, calling his dragon back to him. Soba runs up his back and curls up atop his head. (Y/N) can't help but notice how the shades of green match—Genji must have done that on purpose. "Goodnight, (Y/N)~" He starts walking off, but pauses to look back, "...-goodnight, brother."

"...-rest well, Genji." Hanzo replies after a slight hesitation.

(Y/N) shares a private smile with herself. It's small victories for now, but they're starting to act like brothers. "...-walk me to my room?" She asks timidly, looking to Hanzo. She isn't sure what tonight meant, but she doesn't want to let that secure feeling go just yet. In a small act of bravery, she slips her hand in his—it's calloused, likely due to frequent practice with his bow.
