Chapter 11: A Cadet has Fallen

There she lay, her long light brown hair, stained with blood. Her skull seems to be smashed. Her head is laying in a pool of blood. Her Survey Corp hood, stained. There Scar is, dead.

Xeo runs from behind me. He gasps. "Scar... She... She..." I say, eyes watering. He grabs my hand and we run downstairs where everyone is. "Guys what's wrong?" Ender asks. She shoots me a look of jealousy as she sees Xeo holding my hand. "Scar! She's... She's dead!" Xeo gasps for air. Everyone stands. Xeo lets my hand go as we run back up the stairs. "A body has been discovered!" Mononeko's voice blasts as we get to the library. "You will have a short period of time to investigate before the class trial!" He continues as we stare at Scar's lifeless body. I walk toward her and move the hair from her face. My hand becomes covered in blood causing me to shiver. Her orange eyes, look ahead in shock. They're a lighter shade of orange now that she's dead. I feel where she was hit in the skull. It's broken...

Mango hands me a towel she went and got and I clean my hands shaking. "Okay let's group up..." Mango says. "Lily, Xeo, Simple and Anna. You're with me again." Mango says. "Uh... I'll watch the body with Mary." Ender says. I nod in thanks as the others begin to search for clues outside the library. "Way to check her body..." Xeo sighs as he throws the towel in the garbage. "Sorry but what else should I have done?!" I flail my arms. Anna pulls out her ID and it blinks. "Cause of Death... Skull was Smashed..." She reads. "Weapon used to kill... A textbook?" She looks up at us. I walk around Scar's body and look around. I pick up a bloody textbook and put it on the table. "A text book...?" I question. Simple examines the body as I wipe blood off the textbook. "How to Draw Manga Poses...?" I read tilting my head. The others walk over and examine the cover. "Was she reading this before she died...?" Simple questions as I look through the pages. A few papers fall out onto the table. Mango looks through them. "It looks like practice poses..." Mango examines them. "She probably drew them..." Xeo says. "No... These are two different styles..." Mango says comparing two papers. "So you mean the killer..." Simple begins. "Was with her before she died." Mango nods setting the papers down on the table. "Someone was looking to draw pictures... But needed help so they went with Scar to look up poses." Anna says looking down at Scar's body. "But... Who would kill her...?" I ask staring at the papers, trying to figure out who drew with Scar. I've never seen a few people draw before so it could be one of them. "If it helps..." Ender begins walking over to us. "I saw Scar drawing poses yesterday at breakfast. Wild, Anna, and Raptor were watching and giving her advice." She moves her white hair out of her eyes, looking down at Scar.

 "But..." Anna begins. "I only showed her how to do a hug pose..." Anna begins. "These are all kissing and holding hands." She holds the papers up. "I'm not saying you did it!" Ender says. "She's saying that Wild and Raptor are suspects... And you too Anna. Even though you claim not do... We still can't be sure." Mary backs up Ender. "Now let's go back to watching this body..." Ender nods and follows Mary back to their usual spot. I look at Anna. "I swear I didn't kill her! We hardly spoke!" Anna panics. I go back to investigating. I notice what looks to be like writing. "Huh...?" I begin to examine the writing. It's too smudged to read. It could have been something important. Xeo picks up what looks like to be string. He wipes the blood off it. It a light blue color. He puts it in a bag and shoves it in his pocket. "Xeo what did you find?" I ask. He looks at me, his orange eyes blinking as if he were confused. "Oh.. That... You'll see during the trial." He looks back at the body. I see a piece of paper sticking out of Scar's pocket. I pull it out and my eyes widen.

 "I heard you needed help with poses. I'll help you. Just come to the library. Maybe we can chat about anime ^-^" 

 "Guys... Scar got a note from somebody..." I say holding up the paper. Mango takes the paper and reads it to herself, handing it to Xeo to read next. "Talk about Anime...?" Mango begins. "Scar loved Attack on Titan and Fairy Tail... So someone could of wanted to be her friend by talking anime to her." I say. "How'd you know about Fairy Tail...?" Simple receives the note from Xeo as he looks at me. I pull up Scar's sleeve to reveal a Fairy Tail Guild fake tattoo. "She has her sweatshirt off yesterday when we were drawing and I noticed it." I say. 

 "So someone wanted to elp her draw poses and talk anime to become her friends... Then why would that person kill her?" Anna asks. "...What if it were an accident?" I ask. They stare at me in horror, Ender and Mary even stop chatting. "Are you serious...? An accident? This looks like no accident!" Mango raises her voice. "Hear me out before yelling." I say. "Say they were chatting about anime... And the killer got made at Scar for something she said, grabbed the book, and hit her over the head out of pure anger." I say. "Like they lost control?" Xeo questions, narrowing his eyes. "Exactly." I say. "...Maybe... But... That still doesn't get us anywhere closer to figuring out who killed Scar." Mango crosses her arms. As if on cue, Mononeko's voice can be heard through the loudspeaker. "Students! It's time to begin our third class trial! Get your asses to the elevator!" 

 We all look at Scar's body for the last time. We all begin to walk out of the room when I turn around and stare. I salute her Attack on Titan style. "You did good Cadet. Everyone's proud." I turn leaving to catch up with the rest. 

 "Lily what took you so long!" Swift whines. "Sorry... I had to say goodbye to Scar. Attack on Titan Style..." I say. Everyone nods as Wild presses the button. 

Let's start the third class trial.
