Chapter 21: Two for One

At the bottom of the pool, Ender's body. In the closet, Cheesy's body. I put my ID down and take off my hoodie. "Swift! Go get everyone. I'm getting Ender's body!" I take my sneakers and socks off. Swift is staring at the body, in shock. She begins crying more. "SWIFT! NOW!" I yell. I jump in the pool, surrounded by warm blood. I feel sick swimming in this shit. I grab Ender's body and swim up. Before I reach the surface water floods into my nose causing me to open my mouth. I get to the surface and I gasp for air, tossing her body on to the floor. I cough up the bloody water. The others run in just in time to see me drenched in blood. Xeo grabs my arm and helps me out. "Thanks..." I cough up more water. "Did you... Just..." Simple begins. "We can't investigate a body we can't see..." I say. "Good point... But you swallowed bloody water."  Anna tilts her head. "Ah... I didn't swallow it... I spit it all out. I think..." I sigh. Simple rubs my back as I cough up more water. 

"A body has been discovered! You will have a period of time to investigate before the trial!"

"Students! You have an extended period of time to investigate! Since there are two bodies!" Mononeko laughs on the announcements.

 Two announcements. Why could he just make it one announcement all together? The asshole wants to hurt us more. I look over and Xeo who is standing over Ender's body in shock and horror. Swift mindlessly walks over to the closet. She falls to her knees crying. Cheesy lies in the closet, eyes wide open. Swift hugs her lifeless body, sobbing into her shoulder. "Leave her for now..." Mango puts her hand on my shoulder. "Come on Lily let's get you a change of clothes, a shower and throw these in the wash before the trial." Anna says motioning me out. I nod as the others begin investigating. She holds my ID, keys, amulet, hoodie, shoes, and socks. "Lily you swam in blood..." Anna says opening my door for me. I walk in my bathroom and close the door. I step in the shower, turning the water on and watching the blood wash away. Who would kill two people...? And why in two different ways...? I shampoo my hair and rinse it before turning off the water. I wrap a towel around my body before stepping out. Anna hands me a red sweatshirt with a maple leaf on it. "It's all I have... Your clothes got soaked in blood... Even the ones outside the pool from the splash..." She rambles. She hands me a black t-shirt and white tights. I change quickly and look at my amulet. I take the towel and clean it before putting it on once more. "Your clothes are being washed..." Anna says.

We exit the room and Anna hands me my stuff. "Two murders... Why..." Anna mumbles to herself. I turn on my school ID and begin reading the files. "Seems Ender wasn't drowned... She was stabbed in her chest. And Cheesy was killed by chemicals." I say. "What kind?" Anna asks as we walk up the stairs. "Pool cleaners. Shock and stuff like that..." I sigh. We get to the pool. Mango is trying her best to comfort Swift. Simple and Xeo are examining Ender's body. "Oh you're borrowing Anna's Canadian outfit..." Simple looks at me for a second, but quickly returns to examining the body. "Anna go help Mango with Swift... All swift has done is sob." Xeo sighs as Anna nods, running over to them. "Thanks for diving in and getting her..." He bends down to Ender's body. There's a stab wound in her chest. "No problem..." I say. "The wound was the only thing that killed her..." Xeo sighs standing up. He begins walking toward the closet. He gets Swift to move. Anna is holding her to calm her down. Xeo examines the body. Before I can help, Simple grabs my wrist. He shakes his head. I frown a little but understand. Xeo grabs something from Cheesy's body before stepping aside. "You guys can help now." Xeo says. I step foward, bending down to Cheesy's body. I notice a knife in her back. I move her slightly and blue chemicals pour out of her mouth. I groan a little at the once amazing smell of the pool. "The killer poured chlorine in her mouth..." I gag covering my mouth. Mango rubs my back. Cheesy is missing her headband... I look over at Swift to see her holding it close to her chest. The poor girl... Her best friend was murdered.

"Let's go search their rooms." Simple suggests. Mango helps Swift stand up as we begin leaving. "What do you think will be in their rooms...?" Mango asks. "Notes, clues, evidence..." I say. We go into Ender's room. Everyone but Swift begins searching. We tear up the room, throw stuff to the floor,breaking stuff... "Guys! I found a note!" Mango says. We walk over to her. "Ender. Meet me by the pool. We need to talk." Mango reads. "No one signed it..." She sighs.

"Okay you fuckers! It's time for the trial to begin! Get your asses to the elevator now!" Mononeko says. "W-what?! Already?!" Anna says. She grabs my wrist. "Let's change you into your normal clothes..."

We get to the elevator after I changed back into my normal clothes. They're warm from the dryer. "Finally! Now let's get this trial over with!" Mononeko presses the button. He looks at me, with a sad smile on his face. I raise my eyebrow at him. "What's with the smile?" I growl. "Oh nothing... Nothing.. At all.." He says turning away. "He's acting really weird... Weirder than normal..." Anna whispers as I nod. Mango is still comforting Swift as we prepare ourselves mentally for the trial to see who killer Ender and Cheesy.
