Chapter 19: Fifth Floor

I wake up to the morning announcements. I sit up in bed groaning. I'm so sore from running around yesterday. I realize I fell asleep in my normal clothes. I sigh, jumping out of bed, walking out my door to meet everyone in the dining hall. "Morning..." Cheesy waves. I wave back and sit next to Mango. "Key." I say. Mango looks at me and nods. She hands me Hope's key. I put it in my pocket just in time for Mononeko to appear. Simple and Xeo stand in front of me protectively. "Let me talk to her..." Mononeko says. "No! You crazy?!" Simple says. "I wanna explain myself to her." He continues. "You explain to us all." Xeo growls. Mononeko crosses his arms and growls. His ear flatten and he begins walking out. "You assholes wanna see the fifth floor or not." He growls. "He has lots of mood swings..." Anna whispers before getting up. We all follow Mononeko up the stairs. "Go explore or whatever..." He says once we reach the neon blue hallway.

Me and Mango go exploring together. "Lily... Remember when Xeo and Simple took the book and were wide eyed...?" Mango begins. "Yeah what was that about?" I begin. She smirks and looks away. "Don't worry about it... It's nothing." She begins laughing. "H-hey! That's no fair how come you know and I don't!" I yell. Mango opens a door completely ignoring me. There's a garden. Of course the sky is fake. It's glass windows with images of the sky. I frown because it's never the same as the outside. I look around to see roses and multiple other flowers. "Whoa... It's actually pretty." I pick a flower and Mango looks around. She opens a shed to find various gardening tools. "Eek... There's a chainsaw.." She closes the door slowly as I look at her. I feel a shadow over me. I look up to see Mononeko standing there.

"You read the book..." His ears flatten. "Stay away from her!" Mango yells. Mononeko bends down to my level and sighs. "There was a reason I told you not to read the book." He looks at me, pain in his eyes. "I can't figure out that book myself... Since when was I ever Mamoru?" He looks at the ground. What do I do? I'm not good with comforting people! I give him a hug. "No one can figure out the books... Only the person who wrote them." I sigh as my cheeks heat up. Mononeko wraps his arms around me. "Yeah... I'll ask them later..." He mumbles but I pretend not to hear it. "Have fun exploring..." He vanishes. "SO!" Mango says smirking. "S-shut up I didn't know how to help him!" I blush. Mango makes kissy faces. "Maybe you should of kissed him!" She says. "Oh piss off you're acting like Simple." I walk out of the garden. I hear her laughing from the garden as I open another door. Or at least try. The door is locked and won't open. I groan and Mango walls behind me. "Should we meet with everyone else...?" She asks. I shake my head as I open another door. A chemical lab. I step inside looking around. "This looks like a science class room..." Mango says opening a cabinet.

"It is a science class..." I face palm. I look around the room when Simple and Anna run in. "Hey!" They smile. "Uh hey guys..." I begin. "What are you guys doing?" Anna asks. "We're looking around this class... What does it look like?" I sigh holding my head. "What's with her?" Simple begins when Mango stands from searching under a table and walking over to Simple. She whispers the whole incident to Simple and he smiles like an idiot. "You two should have kissed!!" he says. I hide my face with my hood as my face burns up. "You guys!" Anna walks over to me as the two laugh. "Hey come on... Let's go play video games." She smiles. I look up at her hand, grabbing it with my own. She helps me stand and walks me out of the room. "Sorry about Simple and Mango..." Anna says. "It's fine I'm used to it..." I sigh as we walk down the stairs. "Shouldn't we meet with the others...?" I tilt my head. " No not yet. We don't need Mononeko to appear and Xeo try to attack him..." Anna sighs. "Why is Xeo protecting me so much?!" I groan as we get to the game room.

 "We don't know. The second you vanished with Mononeko he started running around looking for you. Maybe he thinks you have answers..." Anna mumbles. "Answers...? What does he think Mononeko tells me stuff?" I tilt my head. "He got suspicious after he shoved that note into your pocket." Anna scans her ID and begins playing Dance Dance Revolution. "What..?! You all saw that?!" I groan. "Of course." Anna focuses on the game. She doesn't miss a single note as she steps all different ways. "How are you so good...?" I ask as she finishes her song. She wipes sweat off her forehead, smiling at me. "Practice." She says. "Me and Simple come here a lot... How come you're never here...?" Anna questions. "Aren't you Super High School Level Gamer?" I nod, holding my head, sighing. "I feel like there's no time. We're always investigating and doing trials. And we had that big chase last night..." I groan. "Yeah... And you were sick..." She chuckles. "Lily... Are you sure you're okay after reading that book...?" She asks. "I told you I'm okay. I'm not worried about any of it." I smile. Anna stays silent as I begin to leave. "Huh...?! Where you going?!" She asks. "Huh...? Oh... I thought we should meet everyone to talk about the fifth floor... It's almost time to meet." I say turning around.

 Anna jumps of the game and pulls my hood down as we begin walking to the dining hall to talk to everyone else. As we walk out of the room, Swift and Cheesy run up to us. "Hey guys! You going to the dining hall too...?" Swift tilts her head. "Yeah." I smile. "Well come on let's go!" Cheesy grabs my hand, running ahead of Anna and Swift.
