Chapter 22: Not Guilty?

The elevator comes to a stop. We walk out to see red wall paper and tan tiles. Mononeko walks over to his chair. "Let's... Let's get this trial over with... Okay..?" His ears flattening as he plays with his sweatshirt. "Okay... So me and Swift found Ender and Cheesy's body in the pool area." I begin. "Ender's body was at the bottom of the pool. Cheesy was in the closet with the supplies." Xeo says. "Ender was stabbed and Cheesy was poisoned with chemicals." Mango says. "Ender got a note to go meet someone... It doesn't look like Cheesy writing... Does it?" Simple asks. Swift is shaking. Anna hands her the note and Swift shakes her head. Mononeko begins laughing. "Oh! This is great!" He continues laughing. I glare at him as he smiles. "That's true despair! Her best friend is dead!" Mononeko wipes tears away. Swift clenches the stand but stays quiet.

"Okay..." I growl. "Any other clues...? Anything we need to talk about?" I ask looking around. "I wanna talk about Cheesy. If she was killed by chemicals... What was the point of the knife?" Anna asks. "It was to paralyze her." Xeo says quickly. "You should know certain points can paralyze someone. She was probably struggling so the killer stabbed their spine." Xeo says. I stare at him and my eyes widen. "But... How would anyone else know that?" I say. "It's basic knowledge. You break your spine, you have the chance to be paralyzed." He sighs. "I'm not the killer so get that thought out of your mind." He growls. I nod but continue to stare at him.

"Why was Cheesy in the closet...? I mean... She could have easily drowned." Simple begins. "...maybe she ran? The killer couldn't kill two people at once?" I tilt my head. "But why the closet? She could have ran out of the pool area through the locker room." Simple begins. "She panicked...?" I shrug. "Or maybe someone forced her in there." Xeo says. "I have someone in mind." He continues. "Who?" Swift growls. We all look at her. "Who do you think killed my best friend..." She grips the stand so hard her knuckles are turning white. Xeo looks away from everyone and points.

"Lily." 

 My eyes widen. "What?!" Anna yells. "What?! No!" I yell. "How would you know to go to the pool first?" Xeo tilts his head. "I guessed! Me and Swift went to the second floor and went to the pool because it's right near the stairs!" I yell. Why me? "What was the note that was on your door last night?" Anna asks. "What note?!" I lie. She holds up a note. The note. My eyes widen as she reads it aloud. "Meet me in the garden at 10. Mononeko." She looks at me. "Yeah he wanted to talk!" I say pointing at Mononeko.  "How do we know you weren't talking about who to kill?" Xeo glares at me. "Ask him!" I yell. "We just talked. And I may of kissed her." Mononeko blushes. "How do we know that? You could easily be covering up. You do work for the mastermind." Simple says. Everyone is against me? "What other evidence do you have!" I yell. "The other notes. Remember the ones we found?" Xeo says pulling two pieces of paper from his pocket. "But we only found one..." I tilt my head. "I found one under a bottle by Cheesy. Swift can confirm if this is Cheesy's handwriting or not." Xeo tosses Swift a piece of paper. "This... This is her hand writing..." Swift's eyes widen. "Read it." Mango demands. "Everyone... Lily... Killed Ender and I... Avenge us."

 "But I didn't!" I yell. "Are you calling the victim a liar?!" Swift screams. "I AM!" I yell at her. "If you didn't do it... Then tell us this isn't your hand writing." Xeo holds up the paper we find in Ender's room. My eyes widen to see my own hand writing. "But I didn't write that!" I yell. "Mononeko we want to vote." Anna says. "Yeah." Simple nods. "Guys..." I begin. "Okay! Vote away!" Mononeko says as the slot machine appears. "No... I didn't do it! I DIDN'T DO IT!" I scream. He pulls the lever and the slots begin to stop. It lands on my chibi and the words guilty flash. Everyone stares at me in horror. "Yep you got it! Lily did it!" Mononeko purrs. "I didn't... I didn't do it thought..." I say completly shocked. "All the hope just drained from you didn't it?" Mononeko laughs. Swift has tears in her eyes as she walks up to me. She clenches her fist as she punches me right in the jaw. "YOU BASTARD!" She screams. Xeo holds her back. "Don't deny it Princess! It looks like it's time for an execution!" The button raises from the floor and he smashes it with his tail.

"Lily has been found guilty! Now loading execution!" 

 Mononeko grabs me with a chain and drags me out to the execution area. I begin to sweat as I'm dragged onto a platform. 

Game Over

I feel pain shoot through my body as I see the scenery change. I try to move but realize I'm frozen. I'm glitching. I'm lagging. What ever term you use for freezing up. That's me right now. I see Mononeko appear on the other side. An axe appears in his hand as he begins to slowly walk toward me, swing the axe. He has an insane smile on face. My eyes begin to water as he begins to get closer. The second the axe cuts my forehead I glitch out. 

 Darkness is everywhere. I can move now but I have no idea where I am. Is this part of the execution. "Ms. Lily." I turn around to see Hope standing there. "I don't have much time. You're going to fall through the floor to the garbage room. I'll let everyone know some how." She smiles. "Thank you Hope." I say. "You may not live but good luck!" Hope says before I glitch back in front of a confused Mononeko. I fall down into the hole Hope opened up. I scream loudly as the light becomes farther and farther away.

~No one's POV~

 Lily falls through the now open floor. Mononeko stares down at the floor as it closes once more. He grips his axe tightly as his eye twitches. "hehe... AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" He laughs. "Princess wasn't guilty after all!" He laughs. Guilt shoots through the group as they hear that Lily was not guilty. "You idiots voted for her! If she didn't die from the fall, she definatly will die from being trapped there! No way in, No way out. She'll die in the garbage room!" He is hysterical laughing. Everyone stares in horror at where Lily once was. "Did we really... Kill someone innocent...?" Mango says in shock. "Let's go..." Xeo turns to leave with everyone. 

 As the students leave, Mononeko falls to his knees. "I'm sorry I can't save you princess... Master won't let me..." Mononeko says, tears falling from his cheeks. "I love you..." He whispers as he begins to cry.
