I wish I could forget about you as fast as you forgot about me
it feels like you just wiped me from your memory
like marker off a whiteboard
I didn't get that kind of kindness
your name
your smile
it's all etched into me
like carvings in a tree made by some lonely kid's pocket knife
I wish I could forget the ways I hurt you
in the way that you did
but there's no turning back
there's no rekindling of a bonfire thrown into the water
and who would want it to be ablaze anyways?
