I stare up into the sky in wonder. The stars stand out like glitter on a blank surface.
Another explosion of color emerges from behind the sky-high trees. I look at the fireworks in awe, wondering if you can see some too.
I look back at my surroundings, following the sound of explosions sencelessly. I stop walking in the pitch black shadows, returning my wandering gaze to the stars. If we ever meet again, I would like to stargaze in an empty field with you. At least then, nothing else would matter.
I regain my focus and head back into reality. I walk directly into it, tuning out everyone and just thinking of that moment: No stress, no tiring people, no lies, just the everlasting glow of joy that the night has to offer.
I sink back into the comfort of my home and begin to write.
