I used to think you were my soulmate
Then I thought soulmates weren't real
And you became a nuisance
I will admit to that
But when you told me you were sorry
I found it so easy to forgive you
I don't know if it was for the lost love
Or for the lost time
But it felt right
It felt better than it does for me to apologize
Though I did that too
So even if soulmates aren't real
And fate is a lie
I just want you to know
You are poetry
You are messy and interesting and beautiful
And you should never forget that
