Shut up.

There are some days

where the chatter is the volume of an oncoming train

the noises of life sound more like clattering and banging

and all I want to do is cover my ears and scream

but my arms have become 40 pounds heavier

and my voice has retracted to my stomach

pounding and banging at the walls

as if its protests are a riot at the door of the world

and the world will second guess because of it

there are some days

where everything is too much

where silence is overbearing

but noise is overpowering

and what I really need

is to hear your heartbeat

pulling me closer

calming me down

but you're never there
