Regina sat there in the meeting, the biggest meeting she had ever been in, others around her had either laptops or iPads. She was there with a pen and paper. Killian paused a moment, in his speech as she was writing down a sentence he had just said.
He cleared his throat for her to look up, Ruby nudged her gently. She put her up up and stared at him, his shining blue eyes were just focused right on her. "Miss Mills, I want you in charge of the Relationship section this week, I want something raw, interesting, new," he described vaguely.
Regina gaped, "Uhh, yes.. Sir.." she spit out slowly, he smirked at her, "Is there a problem?" he asked. "Uhh no," Regina felt her cheeks flush.
Regna's POV- Why is he so pretty and so firm at the same time? I guess that's why he's so successful.
"Appeal" was a magazine with every section. It's main audience was young people between 25 and 35. From entertainment, to relationships, to the newest health and food crazes, it covered everything.
The covers were all inclusive, men, women, of all cultures, Killian dedicated himself to making this magazine include all genders, and sexualities, and really wanted it to 'Appeal' to everyone. He was very successful in doing that.
"Ok, that's all, let's have a good week everyone," He said ending the meeting, and everyone shuffled out as Killian opened the door, "How's the little one Elliot?" He asked one of the workers, "Oh he's doing great," Elliot smiled and headed out.
Killian kindly smiled at each employee who left, asking some of them about little personal things, he seemed to indeed remember a lot. Regina got up to him with her pen and paper.
"Mills," he stopped her and smiled softly and Regina looked up at him. "Yes?" She asked. "A pen and paper, how ancient," he commented, "Oh, umm," She shrugged. "I'll get you an iPad and a laptop if you wish, unless you want to use the pen and paper," he said. "Oh... umm, Ok," she nodded agreeing with him.
"It is Miss right? I didn't leave out Mrs. or something?" He asked, "Oh, umm, yes, Miss," she nodded with a flat little smile on her lips. "Ok, normally the articles are due Monday, since it's your first, I want it Friday," he said. "Oh.. ok," she agreed, panicking internally, "Ok, great, go on," he gestured his head dismissing her.
Killian's POV- Bloody hell. She's fucking beautiful, and sweet.
Killian shook his head disbelieving that Regina was so attractive. He hadn't stopped thinking about her since she ran into him at the coffee shop. Something about her. Not many women would turn Killian's head, he was mainly married to the job. But Regina, now he was thinking about her.
The day went on, and everyone seemed to type away at their little desks. Regina had an iPad and laptop now delivered to her, Killian did it right away. The technician set it all up for her. "Wow, he must already like you," Ruby said.
Regina snapped her head up, "What? Like me?" She gaped and widened her eyes at her. "Well, he never assigns relationship section to a newbie, and he got you the laptop and iPad the same day," Ruby said. "What's that mean? He doesn't do that?" Regina asked.
"Well, I don't know, I think maybe you impressed him already in some way, I did send him your article that you applied with last night," Ruby said. "Oh," Regina nodded and bit her lip. She was going to have to really come up with something creative for the article.
"Do you know what you're going to write about? He's going to expect the title and topic tomorrow," Ruby informed her. "Oh... Ummm," Regina sighed. "It's ok Regina, you have time, I'm just telling you, he's going to probably ask you tomorrow," Ruby said.
"Hi, who's this?" also a somewhat attractive guy came up to them, he wasn't in the meeting. "This is Regina," Ruby introduced. "Hi, I'm Graham," he grinned. "Leave her alone you," Ruby scolded. "What? I'm being friendly," Graham shrugged.
"Graham! Get in here and don't scare away new people!" Killian scolded from behind. "How does he just know where I am all the time?" Graham asks. Ruby shrugs, "Who is that?" Regina asked. "That's Graham, he's a close friend to Killian, and works on sports sections, and his favorite sport is basically getting in pants," Ruby said. "Oh," Regina tilted her head up.
Regina somewhat appreciated that Killian interrupted that little introduction.
In Killian's office, "She's cute," Graham observed. "Who?" Killian focused down and rustled papers. "The new one," Graham said. "You stay away from her," Killian said. "Oh come on, she's cute, what if she likes me?" Graham asked. Killian tipped his head up, "You stay away from her," Killian said slowly, glaring at him.
"I see," Graham smiled. "What is that look?" Killian rolled his eyes, "I know you, and I know your damn type, don't worry, I'll keep my hands to myself, so you can have her," Graham said.
Killian scoffed, "First of all, have her? That's how you talk? Second of all, she is way too pretty for you," Killian teased. "There it is," Graham smiled playing with the toy basketball. "I've known you since college Killian, I know that woman is exactly your type," he smiled.
"Unlike you, I don't dip MY pen in the company ink," Killian said. "Ok, come on, it was two women," Graham defended. Killian rose an eyebrow, "Ok three if you count Ruby," Graham said. Killian shook his head, "You work all the damn time Killian, someone at work is the only one available," Graham said.
"Ok, my love life doesn't need your advice," Killian said. "When's the last time you got any?" Graham asked. Killian rolls his eyes exasperated again, "Bloody hell, does that really matter?" Killian asked. "Just asking," Graham shrugged.
"Listen, get out, and go do your job, and stay professional," Killian said. "And I mean it," Killian said firmly. "Ok ok," Graham smiled and threw the ball at him. Killian sighed and looked out his windows of his open office, to the staff typing away. He looked at Regina and how she still was keeping a pen tucked in her hair.
Killian tucked his hands in his pocket and looked out, as he usually did. He liked observing the staff the entire work day, that's how he knew when everyone would come and go for lunches, even 50 people he easily kept track.
He sighed to himself, "Bloody hell, I hate when Graham is right," he said out loud to himself.
