Chapter 26 Nerves

Ruby and Tiana got Regina relatively calm, and Graham knocked on the door of the bathroom. "Hey umm boss is wondering where all three ladies are?" He asked. Regina sighed, trying to just catch her breath. 

Regina's POV -- Good god, I can't believe this, I know exactly when this baby was conceived, on the desk. We had no protection that night, and it was so spontaneous and sexy. Obviously I won't blame him, this isn't his fault either. Shit, what's he gonna say? He hinted at his family wanting him to settle down, and he was clearly taking those steps with me, but FUCK, together not even 4 months and I'm knocked up. 

Regina tried to calm herself down as the three women walked out of the bathroom, Graham somewhat poked his head in," Get out," Tiana pushed him. "What's going on in there?" He asked. "Nothing," Tiana snapped.

Killian stood at his office door, he moved his finger at Regina signaling her to come to him. She sighed, and he gently took her into his office. "What's up? You sick?" He asked worriedly. She had never gone away from her desk to the bathroom for so long. "Monthly?" He asked. 

Regina's POV- Yeah that's exactly the problem, NO monthly. Just your baby, yeah, oh god. He stared at me waiting for an answer, and I realized I hadn't said anything. "Uhh, no, I'm fine," I forced out of my mouth. I've never lied to him, and he's going to see through it. 

He furrowed his brows, "Regina, what's going on?" He asked, knowing something was up. "Can we talk it about it at home?" She shrugged. "Sure, you sure you're ok?" He asked. "Yeah, I'm fine," she touches his arm gently, and smiles. "Ok, I'll take your word for it," He nodded. 

Killian's POV- Something is wrong, she never is in the bathroom for that long multiple times. I hope she isn't getting the horrid flu or something. Why wouldn't she tell me though? 

"Graham," Killian called and he headed to Killian's office. "Go in the ladies room," He said. "What? When I did that once you got all pissy at me," Graham said. "Yeah well, this time, I'm telling you, just go in there, make sure it's empty, lock the door, and look around," He said. "What the hell am I looking for?" He asked. "Just, I suspect something, go see if you find anything," Killian said.

Graham shrugged, and headed to the ladies' room, which was next to the men's. He poked his head in, "Hello?" He said softly making sure it was empty. Confirming it was, he went inside, and bolted the door. 

He went around and looked in the trashcans, "Oh boy," he sighed, making a discovery of the positive pregnancy stick. 

Graham headed out of the bathroom, running into Tiana. "What are you doing in there?" she sassed. "It was empty and I locked it, relax," Graham said. "What were doing?" she asked again. "Shh, so, who's pregnant?" He asked. "Ugh," Tiana sighed. 

"Regina isn't it?" Graham asked. "Shhh," Tiana scolded. "Oh boy, that will be fun," he said. "Shut up, don't tell him, and also, what do you think?" Tiana asked. "About what he's gonna say?" Graham asked. "Yeah, you claim to know him so well," Tiana scoffed. "I think he'll be thrilled," Graham said. "Seriously?" Tiana asked.

"In case you didn't notice, he's in love with her, he swore he would never even have a live in girlfriend, and Regina moved in after 3 months? He's all set," Graham said. Tiana sighed, "Ok, because she's terrified to tell him," she explained. 

"Well just assure her it will be fine, just say you have a feeling," Graham said. "She kinda has to tell him by New Year's since he'll wonder why she's not having a champagne," He added. "True, I think she's just afraid," Tiana said. "Killian loves kids," Graham added.

Regina sat at her desk through the day, and at roughly 2 pm, a coworker, Ashley, came into the office with a cute toddler on her hip. "Oh Hi Alex!" Tiana said cheerfully to the little one. "Her daycare has weird hours this week, and I desperately need to finish my article," She sighed shifting the toddler on her hip. 

Regina's POV-- Look how cute that little girl is, oh my hormones. 

"Hey Ashley, you can cut out early if you want," Killian came out to them. "Uhh I can finish it in fifteen if someone wants to occupy Alexandra," She said. Tiana started to take her, "No no, come here you," Killian took the little girl, who smiled right at him. "I'll occupy her," He smiled.

Regina's POV -Oh god, look at him. 

Killian made cute faces at Alexandra, who smiled at him, and he brought her into his office. Regina watched him interact. He knelt down to the toddler's level and handed her the little toy basketball he had. 

He lifted her up and had her put it through the hoop. "Yay!!" He said excitedly to the toddler. Tiana and Ruby smiled at each other as Regina just swooned looking at Killian with the little one. "He's kinda natural isn't he?" Tiana hinted. "Yeah... he is," Regina sighed, with a smile on her face. 

"Who's this?" Killian asked in a higher tone to the toddler about her doll. "Baby," the toddler muttered softly at him. "Baby, she's sleeping?" Killian asked in a whisper. Alex nodded at him. He smiled and sat down with the little one perched on his lap. 

"Oh thank you, here you go boss," Ashley placed the article on the desk. Killian picked up Alex with him as he stood, "Quite the charmer you have," he smiled at Alex. "Thanks, you're great with her," Ashley took her back, "Have a good day, bye bye," Killian said in a sweet tone and the toddler waved back. 

"If I wasn't already pregnant, that would have just done it," Regina sighed to Ruby and Tiana. "Mhmm, calm your nerves a bit about telling him?" Tiana asked. "I mean, he was so natural with her, and she really liked him," Regina said. "Yeah he has nephews too," Ruby added. 

After seeing Killian with the toddler, Regina's nerves about the pregnancy subsided. Tiana encouraged her that Killian would not freak out or react negatively, and that she should just tell him as soon as possible. 

"He's a guy, but he will figure out if you throw up every morning that you're pregnant," Ruby reminded. "True," Regina nodded. 

End of the day, and Regina got her coat and headed for Killian's office. As they walked out, "Ok, so want to start telling me what's got you a little off kilter today?" He asked gently. 

"Well, I'm nervous," She admitted. "Ok, about my family?" He asked. "Well, that, and what they'll think, us," She shrugged. "Ok," he gave her his attention. "Well I mean, Just hope they're happy with where we're heading with this," She said. "They will, I told you, they want me to settle down already," he said.

He took her hand and they arrived home, "Woah woah, come on, there's more to it," He said gently tipping her chin up to him. "Yeah, there is," she admitted. "Ok, what is it?" He asked, "You're worrying me now," he revealed. 

Regina's POV - God just say it, you can't lie to him and hide it, I have to tell him. "I'm pregnant.." I blurted out. His eyes widened a bit at me, and his mouth dropped open a bit, I couldn't tell what he was going to say, until he smiled. 

"Really? You are?" He asked, with a bright voice and smile. "Yeah, the ummm... desk... night.." She shrugged. "Oh right. We didn't use anything.." he remembered. "Well, that's kind of appropriate.." he said.

"What is?" She asked. "I mean we met, when you started working for me, after you spilled coffee on me, then we make a child on my desk... kind of appropriate," he smiled. 

"Really? You're happy? You're not..?" She worried, but he stopped her, with a kiss, "I'm thrilled Regina, they'll be so beautiful, just like you," he grinned.
