Regina enjoyed her first day and her sister called her that night to check how it went. She told her she humiliated herself almost burning her boss in the morning, and then being late to her first meeting.
Zelena gave her some words of encouragement and said to just relax and not put so much unnecessary pressure on herself. Regina told her she was given the relationship section for the week and that she needed to come up with a title and topic to tell her boss in the morning.
Regina sat, in her glasses, over her computer and got so exhausted staring at the screen, she went to her bed, and didn't turn in though. She sat with her "ancient" pen and paper and tried to think of a topic.
Regina hadn't much luck with love over the years, she had this knack for attracting the wrong guy all the time, and she just didn't have much luck with that. She hoped she would meet some people at this new job.
Ruby was a sweet coworker, and the other ladies at the job were really friendly. She met a woman named Tiana who typically was writing the food section, she was really fun and sweet. Regina hoped that maybe they could introduce her to some good guys.
Graham was attractive and had an accent like Killian, but Regina was definitely not turning her head at him, especially since she really felt this attraction to Killian. She knew that the boss was definitely off limits though. She couldn't help but feel her cheeks get warm at just the thought of Killian.
The way he tipped his head, and quirked his brow, his clothes and his husky scent, she was thinking way too much about him.
Regina still couldn't think of anything and headed to her little bathroom to brush her teeth for bed. She stared in the mirror, "That's it!" she gasped and ran to her notepad to write it down.
'How your relationship with yourself Mirrors your romantic ones.'
She had a title, and definitely a topic she could work with. She smiled, and felt pleased with herself, shutting the light and being able to finally turn in by 1 am.
Regina's alarm, annoying as ever, buzzed at 7:30 and she got up and dressed in a similar outfit as the day before, but with a white button up this time. She did her hair and her makeup, and headed out for the day, talking to herself to NOT bump into her boss with coffee again.
She wasn't even sure she would run into Killian again, but was preparing herself to not be clumsy if she did. She ordered a hazelnut latte and a little egg sandwich. She had a lot of ideas so didn't know if she wanted to have lunch, so she got the sandwich to make sure she didn't have to interrupt if she got on a roll.
She got her bag, and turned around sipping her latte, "Well Morning, Miss Mills," Killian stood, smiling at her, looking put together and his hair perfect, as usual. "Hi," She gaped at him. "Uhh," he pointed his finger towards her lips.
"Little foam," he said, Regina blushed, and wiped her hand over her mouth.
Regina's POV- Oh my god, do I have to be an idiot every time I am around him? The universe just hates me. He smiled of course, while I was embarrassed again. "I like lattes too," he smiled at me, that damn bright grin of his. "Uhh yeah," I just felt stupid. "So, umm, my office, 9:30, I'll need to know your topic and title," He said. "Oh I have it," I told him, excitedly. "No no, wait until then, I don't do business outside the office," he smiled at me, good lord.
"Better go, not to be late," Regina said. "Mmm, yeah, your boss is a hard ass," Killian admitted about himself, smiling as she left.
Regina got to the office, "Oh you look happy, and nervous," Tiana noticed about Regina. "Yeah, I just have this habit I guess of almost running into Killian, literally," Regina said. "Oh yeah?" Tiana asked with a smile. "What?" Regina shrugged. "He has that affect on a lot of women," Tiana smiled at her.
"Right, well, I just feel embarrassed, this time I didn't almost burn him, but had latte foam on my lip," Regina said. "Aww, you have a little crush on him," Tiana teased cutely. "Doesn't everyone?" Regina asked.
"Mmm, not really, Killian also has a really specific type," Tiana said. "Oh?" Regina asked, interested, as she sat at her desk. Tiana leaned over the cubicle, "Yeah, he likes brunettes, curvy, but petite, pretty smile, seemingly innocent looking, but a little bad side," Tiana described.
"Why are you looking at me like that?" Regina asked. "Because I basically just described you," Tiana smiled and sat down. Regina stared at her computer, and watched the time get closer to her meeting with Killian.
"Don't go in before he calls you," Ruby said, "Oh, but I thought we can't be late?" Regina asked nervously. "Well no, but he still calls you in when he's ready for you," Ruby said. "Oh," Regina nodded.
Regina looked at the clock as it reached 9:30, and in good timing, Killian called across the office from his doorway, "Miss Mills!" his voice echoed a bit through the office. He tipped his head up, as she stood, and quickly went to him.
Killian's POV- Damn, she's so fucking cute, look at her. I kept my typical boss stoic look on my face as she approached me, though it was hard not to smile at someone so damn beautiful.
"Sit," He gestured to the chair in front of his desk, and shut the door. Sitting down across from her in his chair, he leaned back, "Ok, lay it on me, what do you have?" He asked. "Uhh, I was going to examine how we see ourselves can mirror how we are in relationships," Regina said.
"Ah, I see, I like it, continue," he folding his hands on the desk. "Uhh, so, I thought I would start by seeing how, when we see ourselves in a mirror for example, we see what we want to see, and I was going to reflect that on how we treat partners in relationships, and how that can make a relationship sometimes fail or succeed," Regina said.
"I am a bit impressed, I don't say that often, by the way," He smirked. "Oh?" She asked. "Aye, first article and that's pretty intense a topic and quite deep, I expected something superficial, and you've impressed me with something quite engrossing," He smiled, pleased with her.
"What's the title?" He asked. "Oh, umm, Mirrored Matches? Or something like that?" Regina shrugged. "Mmmm, ok so great topic, but title needs some work," He smiled with a nod. "I like it, how about something like Mirroring Mates," He suggested. Regina smiled, "I like it," she agreed.
"Well you have to, I'm the boss," he smirked, and stood up, "Well done, I look forward to the draft, Thursday preferably, but definitely Friday morning, and by Friday at 5 pm I want the final draft," he instructed. Regina nodded and got up as he opened the door.
"Yes, Sir," She smiled, probably too excited, but she was very pleased with herself that he liked her idea and was impressed.
Regina breathed deeply, and grinned, as she walked back to her desk confidently.
