Chapter 18 Pay

"Well you're going to pay for that," Graham said to Killian an hour later. "What?" He asked. "That little speech with the raising hands," Graham said.
"Yeah? She said umm ok," Killian shrugged. "Bro, She's a woman, and she's probably going to be upset about that, even if she didn't say it right there," Graham said.

"Shit, you're right, it was kind of a melodrama in front of everyone," Killian sighed.

Killian's POV- Shit, I'm a moron, she's probably all embarrassed and feels degraded now in front of everyone.

Killian didn't mean for it to come across the way it had. Now he was thinking about it and he felt like an ass. Initially he just wanted to make it clear he was very loyal and never flirty with anyone at work. Regina was indeed his one exception.

He texted her while Graham sat there, 'You mad at me?'

Regina's reply - 'YES'

"Told you," Graham said. "Shit, what do I do?" Killian asked, leaning back in his chair. "Well you make it up to her, I don't know, I've never gotten this far in a relationship, mine are 24 hours," Graham joked.

Regina sat at her desk, she was pretty stoic looking and upset. "Hey," Tiana leaned over the thin wall. "I don't think Killian meant to go that far or embarrass you," Tiana said. "But he did, I just got insecure and momentarily jealous," Regina sighed.
"Right and Like most men they impulsively do something over dramatic," Ruby popped up. "So you pout a bit, and let him make it up to you," Tiana said. "In bed," Ruby encourages, with a wink.

Regina's POV- I don't know what came over me, I mean he just touched her back, not like he touched her ass Or was checking her out. I feel so stupid, but I'm mad at him for what he did in front of everyone.

The day went on and Killian would glance up from his desk and out towards Regina every so often. She would catch him looking and press her lips flatly together, somewhat ignoring him, but not doing a great job.

At lunch time, Regina went out with Ruby and Tiana. They sat eating their sandwiches around the corner. "You could get something out of this," Ruby smiled. Regina sighed, she didn't want anything out of it, she just wanted to get past it. "Yeah maybe get him to watch chick flicks all day, as punishment," Tiana said.

Behind them, "I happen to enjoy chick flicks," Killian said. The girls turned to him, and then Regina, who had a mouth full of chicken salad.
"May I? Can you give us a minute?" Killian asked.
"Sure, we have to be back anyway or our boss will give a speech," Tiana teased heading off.

Killian sat across from Regina. "Hey," he tilted his head up, looking like a puppy with his tail between his legs. "Hello," Regina said flatly.

"Uhh, I'm sorry I did that, I'm not good at this, and the whole work and relationship combo is new to me," he said sadly.
"Ok, we don't have to.." she started, "What? I'm not breaking up with you," he corrected.
She can't help but sigh relief, and smile a bit at him, "you thought I would just bail? I made the mistake not you," he said.

Regina's POV- and the suave man redeems himself just like that. Man he's so cute when he feels bad.

"I'm sorry and I'll make it up to you, and do better next time, and you're in charge of the weekend anyway because you won our game," he smiled softly. "If you.. still want to be with me that is," he sighed, looking down.
"Of course I do!" Regina couldn't help but say it excitedly. He chuckled, "damn I was trying to play cool," Regina sighed.
He reached across the table for her hand, and she took it, playing with his fingers.

"What about the office though?" Regina pressed. "What about it?" He asked. "You still embarrassed me," Regina said. "Do you want me to say something?" He asked. "No." She shrugged.

A moment of silence, "I want you to let me say something," Regina smirked at him.

Killian's POV- wow she wants to punish me now does she ? I took a deep breath, she meant a lot to me already, "fine," I agreed.

Heading back to the office, she followed him to his office and stood next to him at the doorway.
She looked at him, with a 'do it please' look. He huffed once, and said, "attention everyone!" Getting everyone's attention, he looked at Regina, a little weary what she was going to say.

"Hi, so we are both sorry for our melodramatic first fight in front of everyone, and I assure you Killian will be making it up to me," Regina smirked and swaggered her way to her desk moving her hips. Killian smirked and blushed a bit as he watched her, with everyone's eyes still on him.

He cleared his throat as Regina sat down cutely and confidently at her desk, "back to work!" He yelled, but grinned brightly at his little girlfriend.

"Regina I really like you," Graham popped up, "shut up Graham !" Killian yelled from his office. The entire office softly giggled.

At around 3 pm, with the office now less tense and back to regular work, a delivery came into the office. "Miss Mills?" He called out.
"Awww," Emilie, Ruby and Tiana swooned over the little vase of unique roses handed to Regina.

"Wow I've never seen purple roses," Regina said, smelling them, and taking off the little card. 'Sorry love, it won't happen again, sexy speech btw- Killian xoxo"

"Aww," the women swooned a bit and Killian smiled at Regina from his office. Regina sighed happily now, placing them on her desk and continuing her work.

She messaged Killian on her computer chat, "So am I really assigned to sports and medicine this week?" She asked.

"I think you can handle it. Don't worry I have some other fun topics for you after that. Given our recent sporting events I think you are more than capable of taking the article to a fun place ;)"

Regina's POV- wow he really believes in me, I guess. I thought he had given it to me because I was sulking in the meeting, but I guess he thinks I can handle a challenge.

She messaged him back, "challenge accepted boss ;)"

End of the day came around, and Regina was finishing up at her desk. Killian came over to her, with his hands in his pockets.
"Hey," he softly smiled. "These are really pretty," she said about the flowers.
"Yeah I like the unique colors," he smiled. "So, we..." he muttered.

She kissed him cutely, leaning up to him. "We're fine, after your punishment," she teased. "What's that?" He asked. "You'll see," she grinned.
