A young girl with both lilac hair and eyes was just waking up from her snuggly little nap that she had took after helping her parents out a lot. She had turned 10 a few weeks before today, so she could go on a journey, but her parents weren't going to force her too.

As she rubs her eyes, she came to a conclusion, She wanted to go on a journey. She wanted to make some new friends. "Anabel, are you awake?" Her father asked her. Anabel straightened her white and purple short sleeved shirt out and she gazed down at her purple pants. Her shoes were black.

"Yes, dad!" Anabel called out to her father. She walked down the stairs and she sees the red and white ball in her father's hand. Anabel couldn't believe it. Her parents were going to give her the very first pokémon that she will own. "Is it for me?" She wanted to know if it was true.

"Yes, we're giving this pokémon to you as a late birthday present. We hope that you can make friends with whatever pokémon is inside this ball." Her mother says, letting her hand on Anabel's shoulder.

Anabel smiled and her father placed the ball in her hand. "Alright, come out, my friend!" Anabel shouted, releasing a small brown four legged pokémon. Because she studied her pokémon books, she knew that this cute pokémon was an Eevee! "Eevee!" Anabel cries out the name of her new pokémon happily. Eevee took one look at the girl and it smiled back.

"Adorable, isn't it?" Anabel's mother asked. Anabel smiled at her mother.

"Yes, she is adorable." Anabel says, making the grown woman looked at her pure shock.

"How did you know that?" She asked.

"Her voice. Male and female pokémon have distinctive voices and certain legendaries have genders, but mostly they are genderless." Anabel tells her mother.

Anabel's father rushes back into the living room. "Professor Oak wants to battle, Anabel!" He shouted, scaring both Anabel and Eevee.

"Dear! Don't shout like that! You've nearly gave Anabel and Eevee a heart attack!" His wife scolded him.

He looked down sheepishly, But then he stared at Anabel. "You have to battle." He told her softly. Anabel looked at him confusion.

"Right now?" She asked.
