As Anabel and Espeon spoke to each other, Darkrai was making sure that they stayed safe from their evil, shadowy selves. He was also wondering if the Shadow Eevee evolved into Shadow Espeon. He knew that if she did, trouble would arise and it will be too dangerous for Anabel to battle alongside Espeon until he can find a way to get rid of the shadows.

To his fear, a shadow aura covered both Anabel and Espeon, but because it was just an image, Anabel and Espeon didn't noticed it at all. Darkrai knew that he could only help what he could see, but he wondered if he had to give her nightmares in order to figure out what is happening to his trainer and her starter. He hated to do it, but if it was the only choice he had, he would do it. "What's wrong, Darkrai?" Anabel asked the Legendary Pokemon, who smiled at his future trainer.

"It's nothing important." He tells Anabel, who refused to let him off of the hook.

"Is it about the shadow versions of us?" Anabel asked Darkrai, who cursed Anabel's ability to figure out what's wrong with pokemon, but he then realized that Anabel was simply worried about him and he sighed.

"Yes, that is what I am worried about. Have you seen Shadow Anabel?" Darkrai needed to know. If he could find out what Shadow Anabel's plans are, then maybe, he could save both Anabel and Espeon.

"I have seen both Shadow Anabel and Shadow Eevee. Is it possible that Shadow Eevee could evolve into Shadow Espeon?" Anabel asked Darkrai, who was unsure at the question.

"There is a possibly, but I'm not really sure. Do you want to spar against me with Espeon to try something?" Darkrai asked Anabel and she looked back at Espeon, who wanted to see how powerful she had gotten since she had evolved.

"Okay, you're on. Don't hold back on us." Anabel tells Darkrai, who smirked at her command.

"Do I ever?" He asked, but knowing that his question was rhetorical, Anabel didn't felt the need to humor him. He used Ice Beam and she had Espeon dodge it by leaping into the air.

"Our turn! Espeon, Iron Tail!" Anabel shouted. Espeon's tail glowed white as she aimed her attack towards Darkrai, but a dark giggle started to escape from Anabel. "You can do so much better than that, Espeon." She had chastised her starter and Espeon turned into a black version of herself. Anabel had Darkrai arms as she had dark aura covering her body as well. Darkrai was shocked at how Shadow Anabel looked. He couldn't believe it! Holy crap! Did we merge together and it went wrong? He thought as he glared at Shadow Anabel. The evil version of his kind-hearted trainer cackled at the glare directed towards her. Darkrai was shocked, until Iron Tail had hit in his chest, making him groan from the pain. He had forgotten that Anabel had called out an attack before she was taken over by Shadow Anabel.

"Give back Anabel and Espeon." He commanded Shadow Anabel, but he merely received a smirk in response to his order.

Darkrai couldn't believe the darkness radiating from Anabel. He couldn't believe it at all.
