Chapter 14

Anabel was training her pokemon. Despite being just a baby, Abra could hold his own against Eevee. "C'mon, Eevee, Take Down! Abra, use Shadow Ball!" Anabel commanded the two. Both pokemon obeyed and Eevee easily ripped through Abra's Shadow Ball. Anabel smiled at Eevee's movements. She is powerful. She's a great matchup against Lt. Surge's Raichi. He is said to rely on pure power. Anabel thought, training Butterfree. Despite his small size, he was on par with Eevee, only Eevee was stronger.

Abra was getting there, but it would take him a while to be one of Anabel's main pokemon. Abra knew his resolve was resonating with Anabel, but he knew that she would continue training him until he would handle a battle on his own. Anabel was glad that he was getting stronger.

"Eevee! Use Iron Tail on the tree!" She ordered. Eevee used Iron Tail on the tree that was behind Abra, creating a large dent in it. Darkrai was shocked by this. She is getting stronger day by day. She is getting ready to evolve. Darkrai thought.

Eevee was proud at her increasing strength. She knew that she could handle a heavy hitter like Raichi, but Anabel was worried. Lt. Surge is known as a heavy hitter, but he only has one pokemon and that pokemon is a very capable heavy hitter. I don't think Eevee knows what she's thinking. Anabel was thinking. She wanted to battle Lt. Surge, but she didn't want Eevee to become heavily injured because of it. "What are you thinking about?" Eevee asked Anabel.

"Are you sure you want to battle Raichi?" Anabel asked Eevee. Eevee looked up at Raichi.

"Who else can tank Raichi's attacks?" Eevee asked. Anabel gasped at this. She's cocky! She never thought that Eevee would get cocky. That dangerous in certain situations!

Darkrai knew that it was happening. Eevee is getting to evolve, her nerves are different now. He thought. "Do you want to freestyle during the battle?" Anabel asked Eevee, making Eevee smile up at her.

Eevee knew what it was. "You won't tell me what to do during freestyle, right?" Eevee had accidentally not spoke telepathically, but wait, something happened. Anabel couldn't understand Eevee.

"Darkrai, what happened?" Anabel asked.

"Eevee has gotten too cocky. The connection between you two was forcibly cut." Darkrai answered.

"To get Eevee back to her senses, I have to let her battle Lt. Surge." Anabel realized. Anabel wasn't pleased as it meant that Eevee probably wasn't going to listen to her during the gym battle.
