Before Fame ~ Anabel Pokémon Story

Chapter 15

Anabel lifted Abra into her arms and she returned Eevee into her pokeball. "You'll do great." Anabel tells Eevee. They traveled to Vermillion City and they met the tall and large gym leader. He's huge! Anabel thought.

The huge man was smiling at Anabel. "Hey there, cutie. Are you a new trainer?" He asked politely. Anabel smiled back.

"I have two badges." Anabel answered with confidence. Lt. Surge liked Anabel's Eevee that was on her shoulder. She looked like she was a cocky pokemon. He couldn't wait to let Raichi break her.

"Your pokemon seems to be up and running and raring for a fight." Lt. Surge tells Anabel. Lt. Surge didn't miss the flinch that Anabel gave when he mentioned her Eevee. So, her Eevee is that cocky on her own? Maybe I just need to beat it out of her pokemon. He thought.

"My name is Anabel and I challenge you for the Thunder Badge." She said this quietly, but Lt. Surge heard her, if not barely.

"I accept your challenge, little girl." Lt. Surge tells Anabel.

"Eevee, no freestyle when we get to the gym. We'll battle like normal." Anabel tells Eevee. This upsets Eevee, but she was still willing to listen to Anabel. They ran to the gym, racing each other.

However, despite being new to Vermillion City, Anabel found the gym faster. Lt. Surge was a great 2 seconds behind her. "You're good, kid, I'll give you that. But, can your pokemon best mine in battle?" Lt. Surge asked. Anabel didn't respond and Lt. Surge knew he had his answer. Her silence is a flat 'no'. He thought.

"Eevee, I choose you! Let's battle together!" Anabel let Eevee run out to the battlefield. Lt. Surge admired Eevee's spunk, but he could that she was arrogant.

"Raichu, come out!" He called out his pokemon, revealing the evolved form of Pikachu. Raichi was big pokemon and Anabel doubted that Eevee could get one hit on the pokemon.

"The battle between Raichu and Eevee will now commence! Begin!" A machanic referee called out.

"Eevee! Quick Attack!" Anabel ordered Eevee. Eevee obeyed and that was when Eevee got a very harsh beating from Raichu.

"Raichu! Slam!" Lt. Surge ordered. Raichu used its tail to painfully pin down Eevee on the ground.

Eevee cried out in pain and Anabel felt helpless. "Eevee! Sand Attack!" Eevee dug her paws into the battlefield, trying to throw sand into Raichu's eyes, but the attack didn't work because Raichu used Body Slam on Eevee. Eevee cried out in pain and Anabel could only watch in horror as her best friend gets beaten to a pulp by a bigger pokemon.

"Raichu, give it a thunderbolt!" Lt. Surge bellowed. Raichu obeyed and it sent a large amount of volts through Eevee.

Eevee only fainted when Raichu used another Slam attack on her.

When Eevee fainted after the brutal attack, Anabel looked broken and mostly hurt. Eevee took a bad beating. It's my fault. She was so cocky and I should have seen it coming. Anabel thought, sadly. Darkrai simply sighed in Anabel's shadow. Anabel mutely picks up Eevee and she ran off to the pokemon center. "Please, be alright, Eevee. I can't lose you. You're my best friend." Anabel tells Eevee. Eevee couldn't respond, but she could still hear.

Anabel ran to the pokemon center. "Nurse Joy! Help!" She shouted. Nurse Joy was shocked at the sight of Eevee.

"What happened?" The woman was shocked.

"Lt. Surge." Anabel fainted due to her feeling Eevee's pain. Nurse Joy had her pokemon catch Anabel before she could bust her head open.
