Before Fame ~ Anabel Pokémon Story

Chapter 5

Anabel had met with the real Professor Oak. "I see you gotten Eevee as your starter." He commented. Eevee was beside her leg so Eevee gently tickled her with her fur. Anabel giggled cutely.

"Yes, sir. Eevee, please stop." At her plea, Eevee stopped. Eevee smiled and she asked Anabel by begging. Anabel lifted the small pokémon into her arms. Professor Oak smiled at the affection that the two give each other.

"I want you to journey Kanto and see all of the pokémon you can." Professor Oak says, giving Anabel a lilac colored pokédex.

"I thought you wanted me to catch all pokémon." Anabel says confused about Oak's request. Oak coughed a bit.

"Don't worry about that. Anyway, here are five pokéballs to start you off for your journey. Catch any pokémon you want and don't get in too much trouble. Okay?" Professor Oak tells Anabel.

"I promise, Professor." Anabel says, not knowing what going to happen when she gets to the next town.

Professor Oak send her off with a smile and a smile. When she finally disappeared, he frowned. "Be careful, Anabel. People will try to take advantage of you." He says remembering that Anabel has a very strong innocence that evil people will want to destroy.

He sighed, hoping that she has a protector to protect her from the evils of the world.

Darkrai heard the plea in Oak's thought and he gazed back at Anabel. He was hiding out in Anabel's shadow like he promised. I will protect her. Darkrai swore to himself.

When Anabel got to the beginning of a route, she took out her town map and she gazed at it. She scratched her hair. Oh great, where do I go from here? She wondered. Eevee saw her trainer looking confused and she wanted to help her out. Eevee pointed to a city.

Anabel looked where Eevee was pointing and she felt dumb. "Oh yeah, I'm in Vermillion City, now. Lt. Surge controls the gym, so I need to go down. I need to go to Pewter City and so down I go." Anabel says, walking in the right direction this time.

Eevee smiled at her trainer's cute antics. Along the way, Anabel met many pokémon and she even managed to befriended a wild Caterpie. The wild Caterpie was male and it was strong for just his base evolution.

"Okay, Caterpie. We'll see you later." Anabel tells the Bug type pokémon.

Caterpie screech out goodbye, however, he decided to secretly follow them to keep watch on Anabel.

It took a long time, but Anabel and Eevee had finally reached the second major city that she was supposed to go through: Celedon City.

When they walked through the back way, no one battled with her because they knew that Eevee wasn't ready yet. The gym leader, Misty, was watching the trainer to see if she could make it out of the city without getting harmed.

"Hey, girlie!" A rough cackle was heard behind Anabel. Before she could move though, a cold metal was pressed to her back and her neck. Anabel froze. A group of thugs surrounded her and Eevee. Eevee growled, but seeing the fear in her trainer's eyes, she stand down.

"I see her pokémon understands the situation." One of the thugs says, reaching out to grab Anabel's wrist. "She's cute. Can I have her for tonight?" He asked, smirking down at Anabel. Anabel's face mirrored a frightened child, only worse. She didn't know what the man wanted from her.

When Misty saw her face, she decided to step in like always. "She's too young." She says, appearing to the thugs. The thug that held Anabel's wrist pulled the girl towards him. He wrapped one arm around her waist and in his other hand was a very sharp knife. Anabel was too shocked and scared to scream.

"Vee!" Eevee cried out to her trainer, worried about her trainer. Misty attempted to approach the group, but when the knife inched towards Anabel's throat, she quickly stopped. Damn it! I need her to scream. If she screams, the sound will spur someone to save the damsel. She thought.

The fear of the situation finally gotten to Anabel. She screamed a scream filled with fear. Her scream made the group of thugs look guilty. She was too young, like Misty had told the man.

The man wanted to keep Anabel quiet, so he prepared to stab her! He rushed the knife down and Anabel's face mirrored the other thugs.

She closed her eyes and everything went black.
