Before Fame ~ Anabel Pokémon Story

Chapter 8

Anabel was training Eevee to help her master Shadow Ball. "Eevee, again! Shadow Ball!" Anabel shouted. Eevee released the attack from her mouth, but it still exploded before the attack hits it's mark. Darkrai noticed Anabel's slight frustration and he wanted to help. He slowly eased up from her shadow. Anabel felt a presence behind her and she grinned. "Darkrai, is that you?" She asked, not turning around.

"Yes, it's me." He answered. She's a wonderful trainer. I can't wait for her to catch me. He thought.

"Can you help us out, Darkrai? Eevee is trying to use Shadow Ball correctly." Anabel begs Darkrai.

"Of course, I'll help you two. You don't have to beg. Now, Eevee, concentrate on the amount of energy you are putting the ball. Too much energy will make the attack explode before it lands." Darkrai tells Eevee. Eevee nodded and she concentrated on the amount of energy, just like Darkrai told her to do.

When Eevee created a Shadow Ball big enough for her little size, Darkrai grinned. "Release it." He ordered. Eevee fired Shadow Ball and the attack landed on the rock.

"You've done it, Eevee!" Anabel happily cheered for her starter. Darkrai smirked.

"We're not done." Darkrai's words made both Anabel and Eevee go silent and listen. "We will train hard. Anabel, are you ready?" Darkrai says, forming a Shadow Ball in his hands.

"Ready for WHAHHH!" Anabel moved out of the way when Darkrai fired his Shadow Ball at her. "Are you trying to kill me?" She demanded of Darkrai.

"No. This is training." Darkrai answers curtly as he fired one at Eevee, who dodged. As Darkrai fired more and more Shadow Balls at the two, they found it easier to dodge the attack.

Anabel and Eevee started to find it fun until Eevee learned Zap Cannon. Darkrai enjoyed this as this meant that Eevee was close to evolving. Anabel was very friendly and Eevee been warmed up to her. "Hey, battle with me." Darkrai says to Anabel.

"Eevee and you?" Anabel asked. Darkrai nodded. Anabel agreed and she released Butterfree to watch them so he could get some tips.

"Here I come, Eevee!" Darkrai charged at Eevee. Anabel, however, adapted to the quick speed of pokemon and trainers, knew what to do.

"Bite." Anabel calmly ordered. Eevee was well adjusted to Anabel's quick orders and that was why they were well suited for each other.

Eevee's attack didn't heavily damaged Darkrai, but it did put him to be defensive. "Hmm. You two are battling great together." Darkrai commented, dodging another attack. He wasn't surprised that he had to dodge Eevee's attacks. Anabel and Eevee are in sync. Darkrai thought. Darkrai was glad at this as he knew that they would be in sync with each other.

"Eevee, Zap Cannon!" Anabel obeyed. Eevee fired the attack at Darkrai, who wasn't expecting it. The attacked exploded when it hits Darkrai, causing him to cry out in pain.

"Wow! That attack hurt!" Darkrai says with a happy tone. He was glad that Eevee was able to land a hit on him as that meant that Anabel was doing her job right.

"You're not hurt too bad, are you?" Anabel's worried voice came through to Darkrai. Such a loving trainer. He thought.

"No, but the attack did land." Darkrai says, his eyes shining a very bright blue.

Anabel didn't know what it meant, however, when Darkrai prepared to fire a Hyper Beam, she knew that she had to order Eevee to do something. "Eevee! Zap Cannon Take Down!" Anabel quickly ordered.

Eevee noticed the danger and she charged up Zap Cannon while using Take Down towards Darkrai.

Darkrai fired Hyper Beam and Eevee charged on relentlessly. Anabel covered her eyes, not wanting to see the erupting explosion that had happened.
