Chapter 9

The resulting explosion because of the multiple attacks colliding with each other very violently. When the smoke had finally cleared up, Eevee was still standing while Darkrai was panting. Anabel opened her eyes to see her friends still alive. She cried tears of joy. "You guys! What was that?" She demanded. She turned to Darkrai, who had used Hyper Beam. Darkrai closed his eyes in embarrassment.

"Sorry, I got heated. Eevee was battling so great that I lost control." Darkrai tells Anabel. Anabel then smiled at Darkrai.

"It is fine. You didn't mean it and you said that Eevee was battling great, right? Does that mean that I'm a great trainer?" Anabel asked, showing her insecurity. Darkrai eye smiles at the young girl. Her confidence still needs some work, but nothing a pokemon partner can't heal. Darkrai thought, knowing that Eevee can give that confidence boost that Anabel secretly wishes for.

Eevee grinned at both Darkrai and Anabel. She was proud of herself. She almost defeated a legendary on her own and in her base stage at that! Darkrai had a feeling that Eevee will be powerful when she finally evolves. Eevee will go far. Anabel will go extremely far. Both of them will be very strong. He thought.

Darkrai then felt a tension in the air. He became slightly frightened for his future trainer and teammate. He gazed down at them and saw that Anabel's clothes were violently shaking and Eevee's fur was doing the same thing due to the wind being very wild.

Anabel looked around and she saw a tornado forming. "Oh no! Guys! We have to leave now!" Anabel's worried voice made the two pokemon stare at what was scaring their trainer.

"Vee!" Eevee cried out, readying her Shadow Ball attack. Darkrai was doing the same. Anabel was shocked at this.

"What are you two doing?" Anabel was worried. What if their attacks backfire? She thought.

"Protecting our trainer!" Eevee spoke to her via telepathically. Anabel was shocked to hear Eevee's voice. Eevee's voice was very mature sounding.

"She's right!" Darkrai agreed with Eevee. Both of them used Shadow Ball at the tornado. Their attacks merged, creating a giant Shadow Ball. The giant attack went into the tornado and it exploded from the inside.

The storm disappeared in seconds. Anabel stared in shock at how the storm had disappeared due to the attacks merging.

"We did it." Darkrai says with a happy tone.

Eevee was glad her plan worked. "According to plan, that worked." Eevee simply stated.
