House Ingram rose from the countless wars of attrition between the Snowlands, Craglands, Highlands, and Sandlands after the Age of Ancients ended. The four Kings of those regions fought deadly battles in the Swamplands in the years before the Dragon War until House Ingram rose came to defend their home. The Swamp Kings held back the forces of the Northern, Mountain, Western, and Sand Kings for thousands of more years until they had no other choice to unite under Gunnar Karvine's leadership in the last years of the Dragon War.
When House Ingram entered the Dragon War, their soldiers were poorly equipped and badly inexperienced compared to their dark-scaled Draconian adversaries that had already been fighting in the war for two hundred years. The Swamplands being the battleground for most of the Dragon War in Aetherian, that region took the worst damage from Kidar. The Ingrams became the High Lords of the Swamplands and Lords of Riverford after the Dragon War ended.
