The first true royal house Aetherian has ever had, the enemies of House Karvine always dread the sight of the dragon banner on the horizon. Gunnar Karvine was once a Guardian Knight that foresaw that the Dragon War would eventually erupt in Aetherian when he looked into the Abyss, and he was right. Kidar and Lazare Lysander set their sights on Aetherian, and the country's Kings did answer, but all fought under different banners. The Dragon of Sunlight, Araxes, found himself drawn to Gunnar, helping him forge a blade of glass malakyte that he named Dragonslayer, with the intent to use it to slay Kidar. Araxes also accepted Gunnar as his rider, and they both united Aetherian into one country, and struck down the Dragon of the Abyss. Gunnar became the first Dragon King, and his line lasted for nearly ten thousand years.
