The harsh desert environment of the Sandlands was one of the few places in Aetherian to settle for migraters from the far eastern Obsidian Isles. The lords of House Morvain were some of the first people in the Sandlands, but they were soon subjugated by the Sand Kings of House Redwald. The Redwalds were known for their iron-fisted rule and dictatorship, with absolutely no hesitation when it came to oppressing their people through any means necessary. The Dragon War would test that.
During the Dragon War, the armies of the Sandlands threw Kidar's army and brothers north, away from the Sandlands as the other regions further north fought desperately to survive against the Dragon of the Abyss. The Sandlands hardly participated in the Dragon War, but when Gunnar Karvine became King, and the Dragon of Sunlight swore his loyalty to him, House Redwald became the High Lords of the Sandlands, and Lords of Sandstorm. They would last ten thousand years before the Morvains replaced them after the Redwald Rebellion.
