House Williams had no ties to Aetherian until the Dragon War began, when the King of Noadia, a country on the continent of Roah, sent an army to assist Aetherian against Kidar despite their own losses in the Dragon War. The King sent a fleet of thousands of ships to aid Aetherian, and their entry into the war changed the tide of the conflict in Gunnar's favor. The Williamses were given the city of Red Harbor in the Windlands as gratitude from Gunnar Karvine for helping him to save his country. They became the High Lords of the Windlands and Lords of Red Harbor, and their ships have always been the bulk of Aetherian's armada.
