Samantha's POV
Annie and Allie didn't have any clothes for me to just be comfortable in in my dressing room, so I was forced with the sad reality that I might have to just be wet or put on new fancy clothes for the next scene, which made me upset.
"Maybe I can help?" I hear at the same time a knock comes through on my door. I turn around and see Shawn leaning against the door frame.
"Yeah? And how might you do that?" I ask, raising an eyebrow.
"I have some extra sweats in my dressing room that you could borrow for lunch," he says, pulling out sweats and a t shirt from his back. I should say no. I want to say no, but otherwise I'm gonna be really uncomfortable.
"Okay okay! Thank you!" I say, walking over to him to get the clothes.
"You still love your comfort," he says like he's remembering something.
"That is quite true. Now, I'll see you in a few," I tell him, shooing him out of my dressing room so I can change. He leaves quietly and I close the door behind him.
"Hallelujah for sweats, am I right?" I ask Annie and Allie. They both laugh as they nod.

I finish eating my food pretty quickly, considering Annie and Allie told me they had to completely redo my hair and makeup. Even though I had to eat super fast, I was perfectly fine with it, because I was having so much fun. I felt like I had the world. I was getting to babysit Aaliyah and I was getting paid for the music video, I was living part of my dream to be an actress and I got to hang out with my old best friend, Shawn. I felt like I was on top of the world. The best part is that even though Shawn and I are pretending to be in love, we're still cool and aren't awkward or anything. It's like we didn't not talk to each other for eight years, but we picked up right where we left off. And considering we're older now, I feel like we're getting closer and closer. I almost feel like I can call him his nickname again, on a normal basis. I make my way back to my dressing room and when I walk in, I hear soft music playing in the background, but there's no lyrics, so I start making up my own. I grab a hairbrush next me and use it as a microphone, putting on a secret show for Annie and Allie.
Shawn's POV
She barely is even out here with everyone. She eats her food pretty fast and starts heading back to her dressing room. I want to ask her something, so I start to follow her. I notice how she has an extra skip in her step as she makes her way down the hallway. She steps in, not closing the door to her dressing room and I see her start to dance. I can't help but smile. I hear a voice singing, but I can't recognize the artist, so I get closer to see if that will help. I look in the door and can't help but just... be surprised. She's singing. Samantha is the one singing.
She grabs a hairbrush as her "microphone" and starts singing "All Time Low," but instead she sings "All Time High." And then she mixes it with "There's Nothing Holding Me Back," and I can't help but feel my heart warm. The best part is, she sounds incredible. She told me she was an actress, but she failed to mention she had a great voice as well.
This girl doesn't even have to try without me falling for her. Which is not good, I know, but how can I not when she doesn't see me as "Shawn Mendes, the Singer and Famous Person," but just as "Shawny, her best friend from grade school."She doesn't see the fame, she sees me and I can't help but see her as everything amazing she is as well.
I take one last look at her as she does what I know is an impression of me, and then walk away. I can't even remember why I wanted to talk to her anymore, anyway.
I can tell her happiness rubbed off on me as I skip a couple steps back to where I was earlier.

Samantha's POV
The afternoon scene was just walking through a town, "discovering" new things. It was also the scene with Aaliyah's dance routine, so she was freaking out about it.
"Hey hey hey, it's amazing. You know it, so does everyone else. You have nothing to worry about. Just go out there and do your thing, that's all you have to do," I give her a quick pep talk. She nods her head.
"Thanks, Samantha," she says, already calming down a little. I smile down at her and then give her a quick hug as Sandra calls out my name.
"I gotta go. You'll do great!" I tell her as I slightly jog to my starting spot.
"Okay, the only restriction you have with this scene is that by the chorus, you have to be in the gazebo, the second one you have to be in the brick square, and the last one you have to be under the bridge. That's where the dance routines are happening, and they know their routines, but don't freak out when they dance around you. You have to pretend they aren't there, okay?" Sandra explains. Shawn and I look at each other.
"You good?" He asks.
"Are you?" I smirk back. We both turn back to her and give her a nod.
"Good, then let's continue to make magic," she yells as she goes to her place.
••••••••••
We finish the first part of the scene, the one where Shawn sings along, within an hour and a half and Sandra is continually surprised at how fast the filming is going. I look at the play back and watch Aaliyah break it down. I give her a high-five and a hug and then we have to start the next part of the scene.
Sandra explains some more things, telling us there will be random people in random places, and then we start filming again.
We start out holding hands, both of us pointing to stuff that we think is cool, then I grab tight ionto his hand and start to run. He laughs at me as we run together, but I know this is cute. We run a little while, then we stop and he spins me around in his arms. We look at each other, our faces close, and we stay in that position for awhile as the dance routine goes around us. We just keep staring at each other, and Shawn gently pushes a hair behind my ear that escaped. After the routine ends, I grab his hand again and pull him farther through the pathway. I see people "playing instruments," and pull him to dance. He refuses at first, but I start dancing around him, which makes him grab my hand with one of his and my waist with the other, and he starts to dance around with me, spinning me a couple times. For his finale, he dips me down, and pulls me back up, close to him again. We're both breathing heavily, but it's doesn't stop him from holding on to my hand this time and pulling me further in. We make it to a fountain and splash around as we chase each other as the dance routine goes on around us. I run away just as the dance finishes and he leaps off the fountain to run after me. I run and keep looking back at him. I keep laughing, which he does as well.
What he doesn't suspect, though, is me turning around and stopping. I stop under the bridge and he almost runs into me, but instead he picks me up by my waist and lifts me above his head. He slowly lowers me down and I wrap my arms around his neck as the last dance routine happens around us. We close our eyes and lean our heads up against each other. Apparently, that's our thing we keep doing. The dance routine ends and we both stay wrapped up in each other's arms as the music fades down to nothing.
"CUT!" I hear Sandra say and instead of immediately breaking apart, it takes Shawn and I a couple seconds to break from our characters and let go of each other.
"Beautiful, wonderful. I love it. This is amazing. Absolutely. I think we should all have ice cream to celebrate. Kyle? Can you go pick us up some ice cream?" She asks Kyle, who appears out of nowhere.
"Yes, Ma'am. Any certain flavor?" He asks.
"Samantha?" Sandra asks me. It takes me off guard a bit, so I cough a little as I respond.
"Oreo?"
"Oh my gosh! Yes! That's my favorite flavor!" Shawn agrees with me, putting his hand up for a high five next to me. I high five him, and we both laugh like little kids at the thought of having our favorite ice cream.
"Then Oreo it is! Get some other flavors, I don't care, just not sherbet," she tells him, and he walks away to get what she asked.
"Pick up everyone and let's get back to HQ," she says as everyone moves to clean up their equipment. Aaliyah comes running up to us and gives us both hugs.
"You guys did great, as usual," she says, waving like it's not a big deal that we "did great."
"Don't sell yourself short, Miss Dancing Genius," I say, lightly tapping her shoulder.
"I dabble," she says, shrugging.
"Well, let's head back and get some ice cream, shall we?" I ask. Aaliyah smiles, all excited, and then she grabs one of each of Shawn and I's hands as we make our way to the car that's holding Mike and Jason.
"Mike!" Aaliyah greets him.
"Jason!" I finish the greeting.
"Shawn!" Shawn says, feeling a little left out, not having anyone to greet. We all laugh and then Mike turns out onto the road, towards the ice cream.
••••••••••
Sandra gave Shawn, Aaliyah, and I our own tub of Oreo ice cream, which we brought back to our hotel room. Shawn joined Aaliyah and us as we watched "Moana."
"Would you be surprised if I told you this is the first time I've seen this?" He asks us, taking another bite of his ice cream.
"No way!" I scoff, not quite believing him.
"I believe him, so I'm glad that you're at least watching it now," Aaliyah says, then shushes both of us. "First Time viewer," she looks at both of us, pointing at Shawn. Shawn and I look at each other and can't help but laugh. We get shushed again.
••••••••••
The movie ends, and I look over at the two Mendes'. Aaliyah is out cold, but Shawn is still awake. We both look at her, I put my finger over my mouth to tell him to be quiet. He gives me a thumbs up, and quietly gets out of the bed. I follow suite, and follow him out the room door to the hallway. I make sure I can get back in and look back to Shawn.
"So, there was no prince?" Shawn asks. I chuckle immediately.
"Of course that's the first thing you say," I respond.
"What? I'm confused how she's a princess if she doesn't actually have a kingdom and she doesn't have a prince or anything," he shrugs, actually confused or concerned.
"I can see your point, but that's not the first thing you're supposed to notice," I inform him.
"Oh, and what is it?" he asks, raising an eyebrow.
"Her bravery, strength and ability to have her happy ending and defeat the villain, without the help of a prince, but by herself," I inform him.
"Ahhhh. Now that makes a whole lot more sense," he sighs like he was just informed of the inner workings of the sun or something. We both laugh lightly, and then neither of us say anything. I start to turn around to go back into the room, but Shawn stops me by saying,
"Can we talk for awhile? I feel like we haven't had the chance to really catch up with each other." I smile as I answer.
"Of course." I follow Shawn,
sitting on the floor and we start to talk.
__________
Yay yay yay! I feel so accomplished today. I finished one chapter, wrote the last chapter and wrote this chapter, all in one day. I never get that much writing done.
Well, anyway, I hope you're enjoying it and stay tuned to see what happens to Aaliyah, it's nothing terrible or anything, just to calm nerves.
