Samantha's POV
Tim opens the door for me, and I step back out. I had barely been gone but a few days, but it felt like a different world when I looked up at my dorm building."Samantha, right? I'm Cassie. We should totally talk more!" A girl stops in front of me.
"I don't think we've ever met before," I slightly question, a bit groggily from the trip.
"We have physics together, don't you remember? I guess you wouldn't. It's a pretty big class. We should be lab partners, though!" She excitedly answers back.
"Umm yeah. Sure," I'm still not too focused on her words.
"Sweet! I'll see you in class tomorrow!" She smiles a big smile as she goes along on her way.
I want to question the interaction, but I'm too tired to want to spend more brain power on it.
"I wish I could help bring your stuff back up, but I..."
"It's okay, Tim. It's two bags. I'll see ya in the morning, then?" I ask, still getting used to having a bodyguard.
"Actually, I'll be giving you a bit more space. Since you're starting classes and everything. You'll be busy and Elizabeth and I discussed that we want you to be able to focus. I will come get you for different events and such, or if you ever would like a ride, but otherwise, we're trying to give you more space. I hope that sounds okay," he genuinely cares. And it's the sweetest.
"That sounds very nice," I sigh in relief. "I'll see you when I see you, then."
"Goodnight, Ms. Simmons," he bows his head slightly to me and then climbs back into the car.
I sigh as soon as he's gone. The whole not having someone be with me 24/7 is actually the nicest thought. I really don't want him to ask me about my puffy eyes in the morning, as I know what's going to happen in a few minutes when I am alone for the first time since Shawn and I said goodbye.

The sound of the most annoying beep wakes me up in the morning. I groan as I find my phone to snooze it.
"You know you can't snooze it. You have to get up," Chrissy scolds me from her bed across the room.
"I just don't really feel like dealing with school today," I mumble, hitting the off button instead.
"No one does, but you might as well take the distraction, ya know?" I can hear the sympathy in her voice.
We stayed up later than we should have, and I told her everything that happened. And she let me cry- well- sob. And all she did was brush my hair and hymn little tunes to help calm me down. It was soothing and made me miss him all the more.
"I guess you're right," I groan- louder this time- and throw off my cover, sliding out of the bed and planting my feet on the floor.
"I always am," she smugly answers as she throws the covers back over her.
"Oh I don't think so!" I run over to her and pull the blanket off her.
"Hey!" She tries to reach to grab it.
"You can't tell me one thing and then do the exact thing you told me not to do," I jokingly scold her.
"Ugh. But that's what parents do, don't they?"
"I'm not your parent. Just your best friend. Okay?" I walk over to the mirror and jump slightly. "I didn't think it would be this bad," I grumble, looking at my puffy eyes.
"That I can help with!" Chrissy holds a look of determination as she rushes out of bed to join me in front of the mirror.
