"Michael, please talk to me?" I begged. Loudly, I might add. My voice echoed throughout Kaylee's apartment since we were the only two in here. They all could sense some tension in the car on the way back... Especially because we didn't even ride home together.
"What is there to talk about?"
"I know you're super mad at me because I didn't tell you I dated Niall, but-"
"There isn't a but Rachel! How could you not think that telling me you dated one of my best friends is important?"
"Because to me he was just another ex boyfriend and I was more focused on you than my past!"
"Were you really? Or were you just planning the best way to break up with me?"
"What?"
"You heard me."
"Mikey," I said, walking towards him. "I don't-"
"Just stop, okay?"
I stopped.
He took a deep breath, probably a filler for thinking of something to say, and started walking to the door.
"Wait, where are you going?"
"I need to leave."
"No, absolutely not. We're working this out right now."
"Leaving seems like the best option right now."
"No!" I yelled. I started running to him and jumped on his back.
"Rachel, get off me!"
"No! Not until we work this shit out, because I'm not giving up on us!"
"Rachel!" He tried grabbing me, but that wasn't working. Then he tried spinning, but that only made us dizzy, and we ended up on the floor, laughing about how crazy we are. "I'm sorry," he said after we finally calmed down enough.
"You aren't allowed to apologize to me."
"Why not?"
"Because you don't have anything you need to be sorry for. I'm the one she should be apologizing. I'm so sorry I didn't tell you about Niall."
"Why did you guys break up?"
"Because Niall and I hardly talked anymore. He was always busy, and..." I looked away and Michael gently turned my face back to him. "I just felt like we grew apart."
"Okay.. Anyone else I should know about?"
"I dated Louis for about two weeks, but we both agreed that we are much better friends. It was basically just a fling, didn't mean much."
"How do you feel about Niall now that you saw him again?"
I shrugged.
"Babe, I need an answer."
"You're still calling me babe?" I said, my voice as high as possible, dripping happiness with every letter I say.
"I am for right now, we'll see how it goes after you answer my question," he said smirking.
I smiled, and felt so much relief that he was still joking around with me. "I didn't feel anything other than shock."
"No 'woah' moments?"
I laughed. "No 'woah' moments."
"Promise?"
"Swear."
He smiled and pulled me closer. And he continued to get closer until his lips were just about to touch mine.
"Sorry, it got quiet and I got worried."
