Kaylee's POV
"Is it bad that I'm more worried about Michael's emotional state, than the fact that I haven't heard from Rachel in like two months and the wedding is in two days?" I asked Calum.
"I'm kind of worried about Michael a lot more than I ever thought I would be. He's carrying around the ring he got her and he will literally just stare at it."
"That's terrible. What if Rachel's hurt or something?"
"I don't think she is. Maybe she just needed to go back to LA for a solid two months, ya know?"
I stared at him.
"I just mean that... She's always flipping back and forth between LA and Australia. Maybe she just needed to stay somewhere for longer than a couple weeks."
"... I think you're right."
"Of course I'm right."
I laughed and curled into his side. "Do you think she'll come back for the wedding?"
"There's absolutely no chance she'd miss that."
"I hope you're right."

Michael's POV
"Hey, this is Rachel! Leave a message!"
I groaned. That message is becoming way too familiar. The small updates from Niall aren't enough to let me know where her head's at. And I've snapped more than a few times at him, because I kept thinking that there was more he hasn't told me. Yes, I know that if there was more, he'd tell me, it's just getting to me. I don't know what's going on with her, so I can't help the girl I love, and it's the worst feeling in the world.
I sighed and pulled out the ring. I really should stop looking at it, because it only makes things hurt more. It's just... I don't know what it means. Why did she leave it? Does this mean she's completely done with us and won't even consider getting back together, or did she just forget it?
She didn't forget it. She barely took it off, there's no way she would just forget something that important to her. Of course, that also means the she purposely left it behind. My heart skipped a beat when I heard the loud, obnoxious vibrations coming from my phone. It's stupid to think that's it'd be her, but.. I always hope. It was only Niall though. Probably just to check in, he does that more often than he calls for some news about Rae.
"Hello?" I said tiredly.
"Hi, I've got some news."
"Really?" I sat up straighter, praying that it was good.
"Yeah, she just called me."
"Okay..."
"She said that she'll be here early tomorrow morning, but I'm not too sure when. She probably thinks that I'll tell you and then you'll go meet her there or something."
"Would you?"
"Well of course I would!"
I laughed.
"Anyway. She also told me why she's been gone so long."
"Why?"
"She needed to get things together and organized for when she moves here-"
"She's still moving here?"
"I guess."
"Well, where is she staying? Not with you, I hope. Sorry, I just meant-"
"It's fine, I get it. I guess she bought an apartment, but she didn't tell me where because.."
"Yeah, because of me."
