You would think that the next morning I'd be more relaxed and calm, and a lot less mad... But when you wake up to one of the people you're mad at, the nice and calm sleep totally backfires.
"You're still wearing my shirt."
"Sorry," I glared and pulled the shirt over my head to throw at him.
"No, I didn't-"
I just ignored him and started walking around, collecting clothes so I could change in the bathroom.
"Rache-"
"Don't call me that."
"Niall gets to call you Rae and I can't give you a nickname?"
I took a deep breath and gripped the shirt I was holding tighter. "I don't like being called Rache, or Rachie. It's annoying and I hate it. No one calls me them, and whenever Niall did, I walked away from him. He learned pretty quickly."
"Oh.. I'm sorry."
I shrugged and went to go look for pants. Once I found them I walked to my bathroom.
"Where are you going?"
"To shower."
"But we need to talk."
"We can talk after."
"Are you still mad at me?" he asked, now standing in front of me.
I sighed. "Kind of, but not really. I hate fighting with you."
He smiled and leaned down to kiss my nose. "We can talk after."
I nodded once, and turned to walk into my bathroom. Some of my anger did dissipate towards him, because I really didn't want to be mad at him for something that he thought would help. I got out and put my brown hair in a bun, because I really didn't want to deal with it today. I got dressed in a color block sweater, worn skinny jeans, and nude flats. And since I didn't feel like putting my contacts in, I just put on my glasses. Once I headed out to the living room, my heart sank because Michael wasn't there.
"He told me to tell you that he was sorry, but there was this thing he had to do," Madi explained. "Being the girlfriend of growing music moguls is hard."
"You're a girlfriend, and so are those two, but I'm not."
"You aren't?" Jen asked.
I shook my head. "We still haven't made it official. I thought we were getting somewhere yesterday, but then Niall happened."
"Ugh Niall. I knew he was no good."
"Kaylee, you love Niall."
She laughed. "True. But he's being all weird right now and I don't love that."
I laughed along with everyone else and sat next to Jen at the counter. "Please tell me everyone else's relationship is doing awesome?"
Madi nodded and smiled. "I feel so bad though, because I kind of pushed him into it and he told me he was technically going to ask me yesterday.. But I'm glad we're together now."
"Me too. You guys are like made for each other."
"Calum keeps making inappropriate jokes," Kaylee laughed. "I mean they're funny, and you guys should see his face when I completely shoot him down."
"So you and Calum are good?"
"Really good. He's taking me out again today and we're spending it at the beach. We'll probably be back around 11 or midnight maybe."
"Midnight?" Jen asked, kind of surprised.
"Don't get all dirty minded, I'm just saying that it's super easy for me to forget about time when I'm with him.."
"Aww," the three of us chorused.
She turned red and groaned. "Shut up, I'm gonna go get ready."
"Bye love bird," I laughed.
"Shut up!" she shrieked before going to her room.
We just laughed and Madi and I turned to Jen. "So, what about you and Luke?"
"He is so amazing, I can't even begin to describe it."
"Yeah?" Madi asked.
"Yeah," she sighed, smiling. "And our one month is coming up soon!"
"Really?"
"And I'm hoping we do something special, because, you know, it's Luke and he's amazing and he can be so romantic."
"He sounds great." Maybe I shouldn't have asked about everyone's relationship, because I now feel even worse about my own.
"Actually, I need to go meet him now. He says he just wants to hang out today."
"Have fun," Madi told her.
Jen waved and left and I just looked back at Madi.
"What's the matter, Rachel?"
"Where did Michael say he was going?"
"The studio, I think."
"I'll see ya later."
"You going to the studio?"
"Yup."
"See ya later."
I waved and walked out the door.
~~~~~~~~~~~
I walked into their studio, ignoring the complaints being yelled at me and walked right into the booth with Michael.
"Uh, what are you doing here?"
"Do you like me?" I blurted, hands on my hips.
He seemed a little taken aback.
"Michael, she's not supposed to be in there," one of the guys said.
I turned around and looked at them.
"Take your time," he said and backed off.
I looked back at Michael and raised my eyebrows, questioning. "Well?"
"Of course I do. I like you a lot. Like a helluva lot."
"Then why aren't we dating? Why aren't we doing couple things like we should be doing by now? Isn't that why you wanted to find me so bad?"
"Yeah, but-"
"No, don't give me an excuse. Tell me what you want."
He stood there a second before avoiding the mic and coming over to me. Achingly slow, he put his hands on my waist and pulled me closer to kiss me. It was soft at first, and then he moved his arms so wrap completely around me, and my arms went around his neck, and then it got just a little harder.
"You look super cute with your glasses," he breathed as he pulled away.
"Thanks," I laughed.
He moved to kiss me again.
"Uh, Michael?" the sound guy said.
"Right, sorry," I said. "I'll see you later."
"Yeah, later." I walked out the booth door and turned back to see him smirking. Freaking finally.
