Chapter 20

I woke up so tired and not wanting to go to school, even though I went to sleep quite early last night I'm still somehow exhausted! I however still got up and went into my bathroom, I stripped and hopped in the shower, I am SO ready to get this dang cast off already, I can't cheer or play sports with it on, it's torture!

*** (8 weeks later) ***

Finally! Today is the day I get my cast off, and I'm not the only person that's happy about it either, my coaches can't wait for it to come off so I can start playing and cheering again. I woke up excited to get it off, the appointment is at 9 which means I get to miss like 2 hours of school but there's a baseball game tonight and Miss Murphy is hoping that mom and the doctor will give me permission to play.

My cast is covered in writing and doodles from everybody at school along with all the girls, Rissa, mom, Allie, Ray and Bea. Josh Drew his name and then did a love heart around it, he's so cute! I got out of bed and checked my phone, 7.35am I stood up and headed downstairs. Everyone was awake and in the kitchen, mom had to go to work today so Rissa was taking me to the doctors so she was there too.

"Hey Lee" sometimes Riss calls me Lee for short, cause you know Leah is way too long. "Hey Rissa" I replied with a smile, I walked over to the table where Allie was eating her breakfast and trying to do homework at the same time by the looks of it "want some help?" she nodded vigorously, I took the price of paper and pen off her and sat down next to her "Leah she has to do it herself else she won't learn" my mom warned "I know I know! I'm just gonna write it so she doesn't spill cereal all over it" she nodded and went back to her conversation with Marissa occasionally sipping her coffee.

I looked down at Allie's homework to see it was multiplication, I smiled. "Allie!" I whisper shouted, she looked at me "i'll mime you the answers ok?" I whispered into her ear, she smiled and nodded "okay 9x7?" I mimed the answer to her and she repeated "63" "well done baby" mom cooed clearly listening in "alright next one 3x9? I continued to mine the answers and she continued to repeat them "27, 32, 36, 49" and in no time she was done, I handed back her pen and sheet and kissed her cheek "well done babe" she smiled and thanked me before putting her dish in the side and her sheet in her bag.

I walked over to Allie "have a good day ok?" she nodded, I kissed her on the cheek and went over to the coffee machine, I made myself a frappuccino before walking over to mom and Rissa "you're an amazing big sister you know that right?" my mom asked "yep as were you my friend" I said with a smile "have a great day at work cause you need to leave in like 2 minutes" she looked at the clock and put her cup in the sink "thanks sweetie, good luck getting your cast off" I smiled and she left the house dropping Allie and Ray off at school on the way.

I checked the time 8.03am "do you think i'll be aloud to play the game tonight?" I asked worried that I wouldn't "I don't see why not, as long as your leg's healed and the doctor says it's alright I don't see why your mom would say no" I shrugged my shoulders and grabbed a packet of breakfast biscuits before going into the lounge and sitting down on the couch. I turned on the TV and changed the channel to the I.D, I'm actually surprised it wasn't already on it although I think Ray was watching spongebob this morning.

Not long after I'd changed the channel Rissa came in and sat down next to me, and we watched the I.D channel together. "She's gonna die, she's gonna be murdered and possibly raped too" I said to no one in particular, talking about the lady on the screen and surely enough she was "I told you Riss I told you!" I screamed causing her to chuckle. I went bright red and stayed quite until we had to go.

It was now 8.23am so we got up and I 'ran' upstairs and cleaned my teeth before coming back down and leaving the house getting in Rissa's car, we drove to the hospital, signed in and waited to be called in.
