We arrived at the beach and settled down as quickly as we could. Allie and Ray wanted to go in the water so Iggy decided to take them, giving me a wink as she left. Basically she went with them so I could talk with my mom, brilliant.

It was quiet for a while both of us just looking at everyone playing in the water the wind gently blowing out hair as we squint in the light of the sun. "you know I love you right?" I said turning to look at my mom, she turned to face me "I dunno, I used to think so but apparently you don't mean it"

"the only thing I don't mean is what I said, I never should've said it cause it wasn't at all true I just said it in the heat of the moment you know? I really do love you, truly love you. I couldn't wish for a better mom and although you drive me crazy at times there's millions of people that would love to be in my spot, and I'm glad it's me that is, I couldn't picture my life with out any of you and I'm so so glad I don't have to. For a minute I thought I might've had to, but it's okay, you're okay and I'm so so so glad, don't you ever do that again okay? you worked so hard to be where you are today, you've overcome so much and there is no way in hell I'm letting you lose all of that, especially not cause of me. Please don't hurt yourself again, not ever. You are not chucking this away because of me or anyone, anything, for nothing and nobody you hear me?" I said crying near the end, doing nothing but looking into her eyes and speaking from the heart "I love you mom, and I always will, don't you ever forget that"

"Leah I love you too, baby I'm so proud of you, I can't believe how grown up you are and I don't want to lose you, your my little girl, my eldest and I'm not ready for you to not be a little girl anymore, I know this job means a lot to you and you mean a lot to me, if you really want this job then take it, i'll be here to support you no matter what, I love you baby" I smiled at her words before giving her a tight squeeze and standing up, offering my hand "now let's go join everyone in the water shall we?" she nodded, wiped her tears and stood up "race ya" I smirked "oh your on grandma" I said before taking off running down the beach, mom close behind me.
