79. Real Life

Evelyn doesn't remember ever being this nervous, but even when she made her debut at the Beautiful broadway show. Her heart was beating in her chest like a tidal wave and her stomach was doing summersaults.

She didn't know how Chris would feel about the news she was about to spring at him once he returned from his afternoon run. She had gone to the mall and bought a onesie and a pair of white socks with a matching hat as well as a present box before returning home and making them lunch.

Her heart began beating erratically when she heard the sound of the front door click open and close before the sound of nails hitting the floors making their way towards the kitchen followed by footfalls that she knew all well.

"What smells so good?" Chris asked as he enters the kitchen and walked towards her with a smile before kissing her temple

"Just some shrimp pasta" Evelyn replied as she began dishing out the food, "you came just in time. Why don't you wash up and come eat?"

"Okay, I'll be back in ten" he replied and she nodded, letting a sigh escape her lips when he was gone, the sound of their bedroom door opening and closing down hall made her heart race even more because she had left the present in the center of their bed. She wanted him to figure it out on his own without her having say anything or be present when he saw it.

"Uh, babe?" She heard Chris say and she looked up in time to see him reentering the kitchen holding the little outfit in one hand and a card in the other

"Yeah?" She asked and thanked the god that her voice didn't quaver

"What is this?" He asked holding the items up with a confused expression on his face and she bit the inside of her cheek

"What do you think it is?" She questioned making him frown

"I don't know that's why I'm asking you sweetheart. Why were these on our bed? And why does this card say 'the best thing about having you as my husband is that our baby has you as a daddy?'" Chris asked with a raised brow and Evelyn for once wanted to smack him on the head for being so darn stupid and not putting the pieces together but didn't want to say anything and waited for him to figure it out and by the way his eyes began to widen as realization began to dawn on him, she chewed on her bottom lip, "Really?" All the Evelyn could do was nod her head in reply and before she knew it, Chris was holding her in the air and spinning them around the kitchen laughing

"We're having a baby" he laughed setting her on the floor cupping her face before planting a soft kiss on her lips, "God this is the best news in the world. I can't even begin to express how happy I am right now. Evie you've given me the best gift ever god I love you so goddam much"

"I love you too, so much" she murmured pecking him on the lips before pushing him back out the doorway stating that his smelt terrible making him laugh. She shook her head and smiled.

After Chris had let the news sink in, he couldn't have been more supportive. The first thing he did was make sure that Evelyn had all the necessary appointments in place. He then messaged Jesse so they could have a meeting about it the following day and went to a late night drugstore to stock her up on vitamins.

Once the cast, crew, and production became aware of the news many plans were put into place to ensure that Evelyn could continue on the show all through out the pregnancy. Though the release for season 4 has yet to be determined, Jesse and the rest of the writers had to rewrite certain scenes so they wouldn't be too physical.

The cast were at Evelyn's beck and call, and wardrobe production had come up with racks of clothes that would hide her bump later in the season. Evelyn was still in the early stages of her pregnancy and everyone had their fingers crossed that they could conceal the pregnancy until the end of the season. Hopefully her bump doesn't pop too soon.

As far as the rest of the cast members, Jeremy has begun referring to themselves as Uncle Jeremy and the girls specially Chyler and Odette referred to themselves as aunties Chy and Odi. Erica became the mother hen, doting on Evelyn as if she was her own and David was almost as protective as Chris, never letting her out of his sights.

"How are you feeling, Evie?" David asked as he handed her a glass of water making her smile

"Good, just a bit tired but all in all, I'm good" she replied and he nodded then noticed her attire and raised a brow

"Are you sure you should be wearing those?"he asked his arms crossed over his chest and gave her his Hank Shaw look and she giggled having noticed his eyes looking down at her shoes

"Wearing what?" She asked with a raised brow not wanting to let on that she noticed

"Those shoes, Evelyn. What if you trip or something?" He asked pointing down at the pair of heels that Evelyn was wearing along with a pair of jeans and a hoody making Evelyn roll her eyes at the worried expression in the males face

"David, these shoes are only 2 inches high nothing is going to happen. Remember I'm a model" she giggled and David shook his head

"Make all the fun you want but Chris had me on baby duty and I'm not going to let him down so please just be careful and watch where you're walking," he said and Evelyn smiled nodding her head

"Yes sir" she saluted making the older man roll his eyes and not even a second later, Evelyn tripped on a step in the DEO building which had absolutely nothing to do with the heels but because of it, she didn't hear the end of it.

As she tumbled to the ground, Chris who had came out of nowhere reacted fast and caught her in time placing her on the ground going in full on panic mode and if Chris had his way, Evelyn would have been rushed away to the hospital and to say that from that moment on pregnancy was going to be a very very long one.

As month three of the pregnancy set in and September rolled around, everything seemed to settle down around them. The couple made way to Louisiana with Evelyn's family and that seemed to calm Chris a little bit as he was more calm and not worrying too much. Evelyn had managed to get through the morning sickness and nausea as well as scans and appointments which had gone well. The only thing that they seemed to worry now was her cravings. They ranged from pizza dipped in Mayonnaise and pickles covered in chocolate with rainbow sprinkles on top as well as toast covered in Nutella and fried with ketchup. Chris had never seen anything as gross like that before and wants Evelyn to eat healthy but that didn't go quite well as he had found her in the bathroom of the guest room they were staying in

"Why are you hiding in the bathroom sweetheart?" He asked when he found her and she mumbled incoherently about wanting to be away from everyone and just enjoy her snack in peace making him chuckle

"Come on, let's go have a movie marathon" he said helping her out of the bathtub and back to the room they were staying in at Ian's house.

"Can we watch the Avengers?" She asked and he nodded

"Anything you want babe"

"Yes!"
