104. Real Life

"Ready?" Chris asked Evelyn as he looked at his wife who was sprawled out on the sofa with an arm over her eyes while the other rested on her belly. She was already 3 months along. It was crazy how fast time moved. They had their doctors appointment and were told that the baby was growing at a steady yet healthy pace and that they ha smithing to worry about which eases their nerves.

"What's wrong sweetheart?" Chris questioned as he crouched to be at her level making Evelyn remove her arm from her eyes and that's when he saw the tears rolling down her face making him frown, "Why are you crying baby?"

"God these hormones fucking suck" she sniffled sitting up before looking at Chris who frowned and wiped her tears away

"I know there's more to this, Evie. What's wrong?" He asked and she sniffled

"Can't we just not go to comic con? I don't want to be around people all day" she murmured and he gave her a small smile

"How about this, if you're not feeling well after a few hours, I'll bring you home?" He asked and she bit her bottom lip before sighing and nodding her head

"Okay." She murmured and he nodded before standing up and holding his hand for her to take making Evelyn smile.

It's been a little over 3 week since they returned from their trip to Greece with Nina, Ian and Phoenix. Now it was time to work once more and Evelyn was not feeling it. Chris couldn't really blame her. Her hormones were all over the place and he knew they would be get the further along she gets bit of Chris was being honest, he didn't really mind. He loved Evelyn no matter what, mood swings or not. It was what made her unique.

"Come on them, you have everything?" He asked laving his fingers with his wife's who nodded

"Yeah, did you put food and water for the dogs?" She asked as they made heir way out for their house

"Yeah. They actually just went upstairs es to lost likely take a nap. Nina and Ian said that they would be over in an hour so they'll look after Drift and Farley for us while we're in San Diego." Chris answered and Evelyn nodded giving him a kiss on the cheek when he held the door open for her. Hair as he closed the door, the gate doors started opening and he saw Ian's white High Lander drive up

"Speaking of" Evelyn said when she saw her brother's car drive in before it parked in the open parking space beside Evelyn's car.

"Hey, sorry for being late. Phoenix has taken his nap and he just woke up about half an hour ago." Nina said as he walked up to the couple while Ian took Phoenix out from the back

"Don't worry about it. We were just about to head out." Chris said and Nina nodded before noticing Evelyn's tear stained cheeks

"What happened? Why were you crying?" She asked but Evelyn just smiled

"Nothing just had a little meltdown about not wanting to go to ComicCon" she replied making both Ian and Nina frown

"Then why are you going? Wouldn't the directors hd errands if you're not feeling up to it?" Ian asked but Evelyn shook her head

"It's the first comic con of the year and I'm required to be present to at least half of the event" the blonde said and they nodded

"What time are you supposed to be there?" Ian asked looking at his watch

"Not for another 3 hours hit Greg and the other directors/ writers want us to be at the convention center as early as possible to go over the program and meet a few of the new cast members" Evelyn stated and they nodded

"Well, we won't keep you then. Have fun and see you when you get back" Ian said then they all exchanged farewells before Chris climbed into the driver's seat and turned the car on before driving out of their private estate ignoring the swarming of paparazzi camped outside of their home.

"Why are they always here?" Evelyn groaned as Chris drove away from their home ignoring the flashing lights of the cameras and the silent shouts of the paparazzi

"Because they have nothing better to do, but don't worry they'll get tired of camping out here soon enough" Chris said and Evelyn nodded. If she was being honest, she wanted those people gone from their house ASAP and if they don't leave soon, she was going to file a suit against them for invading private property.

Before she knew it, Chris was pulling into the empty parking lot of ComicCon and she sighed. She really wasn't in the mood at doing this. As much as she loved her fans, the last thing she wanted was to be in a room filled with people who will no doubt ask them about Mon-El and Winn not being in the next season of Supergirl and what that meant for the cast.

"You're frowning again" Chris said browsing Evelyn out of her thoughts and she sighed

"I just don't want to answer questions in regards of the change in cast that's all. Specially with you and Jeremy not being regulars or not being in season" she said and he nodded because he understood where he was coming from. When he had been casted to be on the show, his character was only supposed to be in the show for two years but at the same time why did they build Kara and Mon-Els relationship the way that they did in season 3 if Mon-El was going to be gone for season 4.

"I know it's going to be difficult to talk about it but I also know that you'll do amazing in replying to those questions. Just answer them to the best of your ability, sweetheart" Chris said as they faced each other in the car and Evelyn chewed on her bottom lip but nodded her nonetheless knowing that Chris would be in the audience or side stage watching the event go down, just like he had been during on her broadway debute. With that in mind, she leaned over and gave Chris a kiss making him smile when they pulled back

"What was that for?" He asked with a chuckle

"For being the best husband ever and for always knowing what to say to make me feel better and just because I love you" Evelyn said with a grin making her husband shake his head with a smile

"Love you too, now let's go, I'm sure everyone is wondering where you are" he said and with that being said, they both climbed out of the car and met at the front before making their way to the building to meet with the rest of the Supergirl cast.
