Chapter 8

Jcs POV-

Addi fell asleep about halfway through the movie. Eventually, Ricky went upstairs and Andrea fell asleep as well so it was just me, Connor, Kian, and Jenn watching the movie. When the movie was over, Jenn went to the guest room, Connor went to his room and Kian carried Andrea to his room. Addi looked so cute sleeping. Her head was on my lap and she was curled up into a tiny ball. There was a few pieces of her hair in front of her face so I moved them. I didn't want to wake her up, but she was on top of me. I slowly lifted her head up and stood up. I picked her up and carried her to my room. When I set her in my bed, she woke up, but wasn't fully awake.

"Go back to sleep babe." I told her. She nodded and rolled on to her side.

Addis POV-

I woke up in Jcs bed, but he wasn't there with me. He was probably downstairs. I walked into the kitchen and saw Jc, Ricky, Kian and Jenn. Jenn noticed me first.

"Good, another girl is up." She said. I smiled and laughed. Jc walked to where I was standing gave me a kiss on the forehead.

"Good morning." He said.

"Morning. Do you know where my phone is, by any chance?"

"No. It might've fallen in the couch cushion from yesterday though." I checked in between the couch cushion and it was there. I completely forgot about my mom.

"S***." I said looking at my phone. There was over 15 missed calls and 50 texts messages from her.

"What's wrong?" Kian asked.

"I fell asleep last night and my mom didn't know where I was since I was supposed to come home. I think she's really scared. I'm gonna go call her, I'll be right back." I stepped outside and sat on a chair by their pool. The phone rang once and my mom picked up right away.

"ADDI?! Is that you?!" I could tell she's been crying.

"Yeah, mom I'm SO sorry! I fell asleep watching a movie and stayed the night. I'm soooo sorry!"

"Addilyn Grace! You knew you were supposed to text me at 9 saying if you were spending the night or coming home and you didn't. You could've told me you were watching a movie and you might spend the night but you didn't. Addi if you hadn't called me within the next hour, I would've called the police! You had me and your sister worried sick!"

"Mom I said I'm sorry. It was an accident. I'm almost 19, I shouldn't need to tell every move I make. When will you start treating me like an adult?!"

"Until you move out, you're still my little girl, and it's my job to keep you safe."

"I understand mom but I'm responsible enough to take care of myself. You don't have to be so protective! It gets annoying sometimes!" My eyes started to water and I was pacing back and forth on the patio.

"Don't talk to me like that. Come home right now!" Jc came outside and asked if I was okay. I nodded and motioned for him to go back inside.

"You can't keep telling me what to do forever! Let me make my own decisions! I'm not coming home."

"If you don't come home, you won't be seeing these friends of yours anytime soon."

"Mom that's not fair!" By now tears were streaming down my face.

"If you're not home in 30 minutes, you're grounded for a month. No penny board, no friends, no phone, no camera."

"But mo-"

"Nope. I'll see you in 30 minutes." And she hung up. Just like that. I threw my phone on the ground, I could hear it crack again, and it slid across the patio. I walked over to it and picked it up, sat back down and put my hands over my face. Jc came back outside and sat next to me.
