Chapter 10

Addis POV-
*day of the dinner with Jc*

"HA HA I BLEW YOU UP!" Chloe shouted at me. We were playing Mario Kart. It was our thing we always did together.
"I'm still in first though!" I let my thumb off of the gas button a little so Chloe could pass me up and win.
"Now I'm in first!" We both edged towards the finish line but she won, like I planned.
I threw my remote down on the couch behind us and pretended to be mad. "You cheated!"
"I did not, you're just bad."
"Whatever you say cheater." I said as I lightly shoved her. She, of course, shoved me back harder.
"Girls knock it off." My mom warned from the kitchen.
"We were just playing mommy." Chloe said.
"Okay well you girls should probably get ready or do whatever you wanna do before Jc comes over. We only have about a hour and a half." Chloe and I walked upstairs to get ready and Chloe asked me to help pick her outfit out, which I thought was hilarious.
"I like this shirt and these shorts." I said, grabbing a white Abercrombie shirt with a pocket in the front and jean shorts.
"Okay can you braid my hair please?"
"When I'm done getting ready. I'll get you when I am, but in the meantime, brush your hair and do anything else you wanna do." I walked into my room and started straightening my hair. I put on a little more makeup than usual then walked into my room. I picked out a pair of light washed jean shorts and a navy blue tank top with lace in the back. After I got dressed I did a French twist and secured it with a denim bow that matched my jeans. I went into Chloe's room, French braided her hair, then went downstairs. I headed over to my mom and stood next to her.
"Yes?" She asked.
"Is there anything you need help with?"
"Not at the moment, thanks for asking. Now what's the REAL reason you came here?"
"To ask you to please not embarrass me. He's the only friend type person I have here."
"So I guess I'll have to put the baby pictures away?" She winked at me.
"Mommmmmm."
"I'm just kidding. I won't embarrass you. Now why don't you and Chloe go play Mario kart or something."
"CHLOE!! WANNA PLAY MARIO KART?" I screamed, not knowing where she was in the house.
"SURE!" She responded from upstairs. We played until I heard the doorbell ring around 5:30.
"I'll get it!" My mom called, speed walking to the door.
"No mom I got it! Don't open it!" I shoved her out of the way, but she shoved me again and opened the door. Jc stood at the front door, with kaki shorts and a white tee shirt. He had on red vans. He looked my mom in the eyes and stuck out his hand.
"Hello, you must be Mrs. Johnson. I'm Jc Caylen." They shook hands and I invited Jc in.
"Oh don't call me Mrs. Johnson. That makes me feel old! Call me Katherine. It's nice to finally meet you. Addi talks about you all the time!"
I blushed. "Mom, why don't you go in the kitchen and finish whatever you were doing before."
"But Jc just got here!"
"But you need to finish dinner so goodbye." I pushed her into the kitchen and we went to the living room.
"JC!!!" Chloe screeched and ran into his arms.
"Hey Chloe! How are you?!" Jc said and picked her up.
"Good. Are you Addis boyfriend yet?" I groaned at the words that came out of her mouth. This was gonna be a long night.
"Haha, yes. And I'm very lucky." Il gotta admit, that made me smile. He set Chloe down and looked around.
"So, what do you wanna do until dinners done? We can play Mario Kart if you want. Chloe and I play it all the time."
"Kian and I play Mario Kart everyday at our house too! Let's do it, but I'm warning you, I'm pretty good," he teased. I walked over to him and whispered to let Chloe win at the end and he said he was going to anyway.
"Addi why do you keep losing? You lost earlier too! And I won both times so HA HA!!"
"I think you have cheats somewhere in your room. Don't you agree Jc?" I said.
"I think so too." Jc agreed.
"I do not!! You guys are just terrible."
"Whatever you say."
"Alright everyone come get food!" My mom yelled from the kitchen.
We all walked into the kitchen and got plates then started serving ourselves.
"Struggling?" Jc asked, noticing I couldn't get the piece of lasagna I wanted onto my plate.
"Maybe." I said like a little kid.
"Would you like help?"
"Yes please." He got it on my plate easily, and claimed it was an operator error. I gave him a slight push after saying that then walked to the table and sat down. Jc came after me and sat next to me. A few minutes after everyone was eating my mom started talking.
"So Jc, your family is in Texas?"
"Yes, I have some family in San Antonio and some in Huston."
"Oh okay. So what do you like to do?"
"Well, a big part of my life revolves around youtube. I have a collab channel with 5 other guys, 3 of which I live with, that recently hit two million subscribers, my main channel and my vlog channel. I basically do anything life leads me to."
"Two million? Wow! So you guys are pretty popular?"
"Yeah. We've been on two tours so far, with about 20 cities each. It's crazy."
"Wow. That's amazing." We talked about tons of things. Then when dinner was over went up to my room.
"You play guitar?" Jc asked, noticing the guitar in the corner of my room.
"Oh yeah, I forgot to put that away."
"Can you play me something?"
"Um NO."
"Pleassseeeee," he whined.
"Jc no."
"But Addilynnnnnn."
"Addi," I corrected him.
"Pwetty pwease."
"FINE." I said putting my hands in the air surrendering. I sat on my bed with my guitar and started playing It Goes Like This bye Thomas Rhett. Jc stared in awe.
"Addi, that was so amazing."
"Thanks."
"HEY! You should make a YouTube channel for covers."
"No thanks, I don't like singing in front of people."
"It's in front of a camera, not people."
"Well I'm not making a channel so."
"Will you sing me another song then?"
"What song?" I grumbled.
"I don't care. A popular one." I started singing I Really Don't Care by Demi Lovato then put my guitar in my closet when I finished.
"Wanna watch a movie?"I asked
"Sure. Do you have Elf?"
"Yes i love that movie! Can we have a discussion about it really quick?"
"Discuss away."
"Okay, well I hate how Elf is considered a 'Christmas movie' just because the theme has to do with Christmas, ya know? Like why can't everyone watch it all year round, like my family does."
"Yeah yeah, I kinda see where you're going with this. It's really random, but I see what you're saying. It's like menus are restaurants. There's a breakfast, lunch and dinner section. Who decided which foods go where? Why can't pancakes be a dinner food? Why is it only limited to a breakfast food?"
"YES! Someone who finally understands my theory! We should do something about it."
"Let's. But after we watch the movie."
"Okay." I put the movie in and laid on my bed next to Jc. I leaned my head on his chest and he wrapped his arm around my neck. I don't know how long it was after I put the movie in, but I eventually fell asleep.
