It was an early Tuesday morning. The 2017 NASCAR Off-season was 6 weeks away from ending with the start of the Daytona Speedweeks. Jacob Rose was waiting getting ready for his 3rd year in the K&N East Series when his phone rang.
"Hello?" He asks
"Hello is this Jacob Rose?" Asks the caller
"Yes it is, what am I needed for?"
"I'm Kyle Busch, the owner of KBM but I'm sure you know that already."
"Of course sir, you were my idol when I was a kid."
"I love talking to people who were fans of me, anyways I'm letting you know I'll be signing you to my number 51 truck for all of the 2018 Camping World Truck Series season."
"Really!? Oh, this is awesome! When can I get to the shop to be fitted and everything?"
"Next Monday."
"Great, thank you for signing me."
"No problem."
Jacob hangs up the phone and starts typing a different number in
"Hello?" Asks the person
"Babe, you'll never guess what Just happened."
"What?"
"Kyle Busch signed me and I'm going to be a Truck Series driver!"
"Hun, you know you're going all around the country right?"
"I know. I'll get used to it."
"Also you're 17. You can't run fulltime until your 18."
"I turn 18 in 3 weeks. I'll be able to don't worry."
"Ok, so would you want me to go with you."
"If you'd like babe."
"I'd love too. Also, you woke up late again."
"I know, don't expect me to wake up early until Daytona."
"Ok fine."
"I love you, babe, I'll see you once you get back."
"I love you too hun."
They end the call and Jacob finally gets up from the couch and walks into the bathroom and looks in the mirror.
"I'm actually doing this. The Truck Series is calling and no-one will know what hits them!"
Jacob walks out and looks at his now old Microsoft firesuit.
"I can't believe this. I'm so happy!"
Jacob says as he lays back down
"I'm just gonna nap until Eris gets back."(Well that's how he got the ride. The next chapter will be at Daytona for the NextEra Energy Resources 250! Also, thanks to my girlfriend (again cause she's awesome!) thesunshineline for letting me use her name)
