Each part will act as a year gap, so it's been a year since the last chapter took place. Eventually they'll both be at the age where it's normal to be in a relationship.

It had been a year since Jon and Damian had read "Saving the Heart." Damian had started high school and Jon was well into the sixth grade. They were still partners of course, but more importantly, they were still lovers.

Neither of their parents knew it, but Damian and Jon had been together for a whole year. They didn't do much, just a few kisses from time to time, but both boys were getting older now.

Damian was walking to the local coffee shop, looking for some escape from the harsh November weather. He found it and went inside, pulling down his thick scarf to look at the menu. He decided on a caramel macchiato and walked up to the empty counter. "One moment," a chipper female voice said. Damian turned to see a head of dark brown curls reaching up to pull out some cups from an overhead cabinet. They looked familiar. The woman put the cups on the counter and turned to face Damian, revealing a light brown face and hazel eyes. "How can I help you?" Suddenly it hit Damian. It was the girl from a year ago! The one who gave them the fanfiction!

"Aubrey Simones?" Damian asked. Aubrey raised her eyebrow.

"...yes. How do you know my full name?" Damian didn't answer her.

"When do you get off?"

Aubrey laughed. "Listen, you're cute but I think you're a little too young for me." Damian rolled his eyes.

"I'm not hitting on you. When do you get off?" He asked again.

"5:00," she told him. "Now do you want a drink or not?"

Damian came back to the café at 5:00, dressed as Robin. Aubrey was just walking out of the café, her uniform replaced by a beige sweater and jeans with ankle boots. Damian called out for her. "Hey, you!"

Aubrey turned around a shrieked. "Robin! What are you doing here?" The two met halfway and Damian's face grew hard.

"Why would you give something like that to a ten year old kid?" he asked sternly.

Aubrey looked confused for a moment, and then her eyes lit up. "Oh! Saving the Heart!" She gave Damian a guilty look. "It wasn't that bad, was it?"

"Superboy was only ten years old. He doesn't need to read about almost sex or anything with the a swear word worse that 'damn'."

"Okay, you're right," Aubrey confessed. Then she scrunched up her face. "Wait, if Superboy is what- eleven, how old are you? Nine?" she guessed.

Damian's face boiled with anger. "I'm fourteen!" he exclaimed. Aubrey looked shocked.

"What? How? I'm sixteen but you look so much younger than me!"

Damian rolled his eyes and started to walk away from her. "Whatever, just think sometimes."

"It worked though, didn't it?"

Damian stopped and turned back to Aubrey. "What?"

"It worked, didn't it?" Aubrey repeated. "You guys are together now, aren't you?"

Damian was stuck, not knowing what to say. He smiled and shook his head as he walked away again. He waved a hand behind him. "I'll see you around."

"Don't be mad just because you know I'm right!" Aubrey yelled, laughing. Damian laughed to himself and pulled out his grappling hook, shooting into into the night and disappearing.
