Being trapped inside an underground bunker was never what you imagined would happen with your life. With a sequence of numbers having to be put into a computer every 108 minutes there was little that the two of you could do about it, too terrified as to what would happen if you failed to do it. The man in charge before, Kelvin, didn't explain too much about it only what numbers had to be put into the computer and emphasised the importance of it.

Now it was only you and Desmond left in what was called The Swan, with a duty and no way to get out of it. No one was going to come to take over your job as no one had gone to help the man before you, so it was going to be something you were forced to partake in forever.

It felt hopeless. The only reassuring thing was the fact that your husband Desmond was by your side through this, but with no hope of ever leaving the place you didn't know what you were going to do.

Having just put in the numbers, you had made you way to the bedroom, sitting on the edge of the bed, holding your head in your hands. Desmond joined you, wrapping an arm around you to pull you into a hug.

"What's up buttercup?" He smiled softly, kissing your hair.

"It doesn't seem as though we will ever have a chance to head home. We will never see anyone again and we will never probably see the light of day again. We don't even know why we're here, why we need to type those numbers or what will happen if we don't. But I don't know about you, but I am too darn terrified to not continue it. I don't want to fuck up the world, who knows what it does?" You frowned, so confused by what your life had become and the fact you didn't know how to change it or get your old life back.

Desmond held you close in a warm embrace to reassure you of what had happened.

"I know it's scary and it's confusing. I don't understand it either, I wish we knew more, but I do know something. I know that we will get off of this island one day, we will get out of this bunker and get our lives back. I promise you that I will do everything in my power to make sure we leave here and go home."
