"I'm an adult, don't tell me off for lying," Shannon frowned, crossing her arms over her chest dramatically.

"You didn't get in trouble for lying. You got in trouble for lying badly," you retorted.

You didn't mean to treat her like a child, she was your girlfriend and a perfectly capable adult, like yourself however if she lied to you and thought you would be stupid enough to fall for it, then you needed to bring it up.

"Don't moan at me for lying, I'm an adult," she stated.

Letting out a sigh, you tried to be sympathetic to her. You loved her, and it did hurt that she lied to you but maybe if you knew why, then you wouldn't be so upset or hurt.

"I don't know why you lied to me, but you said you'd be by the caves and I saw you on the beach. If we were in the real world, I wouldn't care where you were or if you lied about it, but here it's different. There are others here and that polar bear, likely had friends, if something happened to you, I don't know what I would do. And if you go missing, if we know where you were last, that helps us a heck of a lot to find you."

The island itself scared you enough but knowing there were other people on the island who had hurt people from your group and probably would again, sent fear through you. Let alone the polar bear, which confused everyone as to why it was on a desert island, nowhere near the arctic which could cause devastation. It wasn't safe to be alone and at least someone needed to know where you were, to make sure you could be found if the worst happened.

"Look, I'm sorry Y/N," she said softly. "I didn't think it through. I wouldn't lie to you normally, but Sayid showed me this secluded beach, that I guess you found too. I was setting up a space for us to go to get some peace. I wanted it to be a surprise."

You couldn't help but smile at her sweet plan, that you ruined. You felt bad for getting annoyed but without context it was normal to be concerned in a place like this.

"I'm sorry for shouting," you sighed. "I don't know what I'd do if something happened to you."

She wrapped her arms around you so that you were in a warm embrace.

"It's okay. I'm sorry for making you worry."
