"Magic is real," you stated firmly without a shadow of a doubt.
Charlie let out a laugh as he rolled his eyes. Both of you were lying in the sand of the beach you now called home, propped up on your elbows.
"Maybe to a four-year-old it is," he laughed.
"I don't mean wizards and unicorns, even though life would be far more entertaining if they did exist. You are just blinded by the modern world to the magic that is right before you. The magic we have in this life is far simpler and purer than anything in a children's story," you smiled softly, thinking pleasantly of life, enjoying the break from society you had on the island.
Even if life was harder on a desert island, it was nice to have a break from technology. You liked to have the chance to appreciate the simple things in life without having to stay up to date on modern affairs and work all day. It was a pleasant change, and you honestly didn't mind if you never returned to your old life.
"Humour me then," he said trying to not laugh at you again. "What magic do we have in the world?"
"It's everywhere Charlie. From the rainbow in the sky to the waves in the ocean. All of these things happy in the beautiful natural way the world works, but I'd say that's magic that we get those. Children are far brighter than adults, they haven't had their minds fogged by the world yet. They get to feel the joy of watch bubbles float in the air, seeing flowers bloom in the spring and the dewdrops in the early morning on spiderwebs. These are just things to adults, but to children they are beauty and magical. Sometimes you have to look for that magic again, because adult life sucks."
He paused for a moment. "It's a unique perspective but I do think you're weird."
You rolled your eyes at him. "Well I think you're boring," you smirked. "You're a musician, don't you find the sound of birds chirping beautiful? The noise of the window brushing through leaves. They are magical sounds that people fail to look into the beauty behind. It's magic that the world runs how it does and humans think they are beyond the natural beauty the world holds. Nothing man can create could ever beat nature's ways."
A fond smile curled on his lips as he moved one of his hands in the sand to find yours. "Well you are a magical beauty. Your mind is amazing to see the beauty in the world."
