"You alright pint size?" Sawyer smirked, as you went to walk past him.

You had been crossing the beach to get to where the water bottles were to get a new bottle of fresh water however Sawyer's tent was on the way. His nose was in a book as usual, so you hoped he'd have not noticed you crossing by. Of course, he did. He was able to sniff out someone who he could mock and tease easily. Currently you were one of his favourite targets.

"Stop that," you frowned, pausing in the sand.

"Stop what?" He asked, lowering his book to the ground, and a playful smile toyed on his lips.

"Making fun of my height."

It had been a common occurrence in your life, to be teased due to your short stature. You were under five foot, and many people felt as though you didn't know that so had to make a comment on it. Sawyer was by far the worst person when it came to such annoyances. Every time he saw you, he would make some comment about your height, annoying you until you left the area forcing him to stop making jokes about it.

"Does it annoy you, Bilbo?" He asked.

Your arms crossed across your chest, finally too annoyed by his comments to just walk away for it to occur on your way back.

"Yes, it does annoy me Sawyer. I've had to put up with this for my whole life and yet here I am in the middle of nowhere on a deserted island and there's still some arsehole making comments about my height. Yes, I am short. But that doesn't mean I don't have feelings. It's annoying and upsetting to never be able to go ten minutes without you making fun of how short I am. It's annoying enough not being able to reach stuff, let alone to be given every short-based nickname known to man."

Sawyer fell silent which was a rare and peculiar occurrence. He stood up and made his way to you, an apologetic expression on his face.

"I'm sorry Y/N," he said. "I didn't know it upset you."

You were pretty sure that was the first time he had ever said your name and it was definitely the first time you had ever heard him apologise for anything.

"You never apologise when you upset someone," you stated.

"Yeah, well no one's like you. I'd hate to upset such a kind and beautiful woman. I promise I'll stop."

"Thank you."
