~The Next Day~
~9:00 AM~

"Dan!" Phil's voice echoed throughout his flat, my eyes shot open but soon closed due to my lack of sleep. "Dan! Wake up, I have so much planned for us to do!" Without hesitation, he burst through the door and jumped on top of me, "Danny boy! C'mon lazy bones it's already ten o'clock!" A soft blush flooded my cheeks at his words, it was comforting but also made my stomach fill with butterflies, and before I knew it Phil brought his face inches from mine, his warm silky soft hands taking hold of my face. "Dan. I won't leave you alone 'til you agree to get out of bed." His slight smirk got my attention but his piercing ocean blue eyes stole my heart.

Softly sighing as a subtle, "Fine." left my lips causing Phil to jump up off me and run out the door in glee. Swiftly, I flung the covers off of me and slowly sat up, the light from the sun beaming through the window, the sun just barely risen above the trees. Unzipping my bag and looking through my clothes realizing that, no matter how much I loved the color, all my clothes were black. Quickly my eyes fell to my wrists, the makeup had rubbed off in my sleep, my heart was racing, once I was dressed I grabbed "my" makeup bag and rushed to the bathroom, without Phil even noticing. Taking the liquid concealer, powder concealer, brush, finishing spray, and the beauty blender out I frantically tried to put everything onto my skin as quickly as I possibly could. When I was done, honestly, I was surprised at how it looked, like it appeared that as if my wrist had never had a single scar or blade placed to it.

"Dan! I made breakfast!" Phil's soft-voice echoed throughout the flat as he called for me.

"Be right there!" Shoving everything back into the bag and chucking it into the room as I headed down the hall towards the kitchen took a huge weight off my shoulders. As I entered the kitchen I was attacked by the smell of pancakes and bacon flooding into my nose. "Oh. My. God. Phil, this smells - this is - holy shit!"

Phil chuckled at my loss for words and smiled, "I'm as surprised as you are Dan, honestly, I usually don't cook this good." His modesty was very cute but I knew he was right, he had cooked with me on Skype call before and usually, it did end up a bit peculiar looking.  Phil handed me my plate of pancakes before leading me to the lounge, "I know 'normal' people usually eat in their kitchens but, haha! I'm weird and I figure that the most relaxing place to eat food would be on a couch." I laughed at Phil's response, as much as it was very smart it was quite hilarious as well. Phil sat down beside me and grabbed the remote to his TV, then my phone rang, and when I saw the name of who was calling me my heart dropped. "Who is it?"

"M-My mom," As soon as the words left my mouth Phil's expression changed, not from wonder but to concern and worry. Carefully, I placed the phone to my ear, "H-Hi Kate, what's up?"

"Why didn't you call me before you left? Why didn't you let me know you arrived safely? Explain yourself, Daniel!"

Her voice boomed through the speakers, "Umm, well I didn't have Wi-Fi and umm I-" I could barely finish my sentence before Kate decided my almost answer wasn't good enough.

"Don't lie to me Daniel!"

Phil's eyes looked worryingly at me, he didn't even have to speak, I knew exactly what he was thinking, softly I sighed and shook my head. "Listen Kate. If you only called to yell at me then you're wasting your time, now if you called to actually here my reason I'd much appreciate it if you stopped yelling at me and let me explain." Suddenly Phil burst out laughing his hands quickly thrown over his mouth to contain his dinner, through the speaker I could hear Kate scoff in disgust but I didn't care, and I could see in Phil's eyes a burst of pride. My heart skipped a beat at the thought that maybe he was proud that I finally spoke my mind to her, even if it was over the phone.

"Why did you not call me before you left or even after you arrived?" Her voice seemed a little calmer than before.

"Kate... To be honest, in the back of my mind I really wanted to call you when I left but, I just couldn't. Mostly because I knew one way or another you'd try and give me a whole bunch of reasons why not to go and try to get me to stay. But honestly, I know you're still not okay with my sexuality, that you've made pretty clear, but I think - I think you'd really like Phil mum." A wide smile spread across Phil's cheeks, almost as if he knew I had the worlds biggest crush on him.

The line went silent, but for a second in the background, I could have sworn I heard her crying. "Daniel... Can I - I know we aren't the best of friends and I know we don't see eye to eye - never mind anyway I'm glad you got their safe and I - I hope you have a good trip and we'll talk to you when you arrive home. Goodbye." And with nothing else, she hung up.

"What'd she say?" Phil could barely get the words out without giggling and blushing like a teeenage girl.

"Well," I laughed, "she almost said something about her and I not always being on the same page but then she changed the subject so quickly and hung up." After a minute for silence, we both broke into a fit of laughter.
