10.
Zach ran to the door for the second time when he heard another set of raps on the door. Throwing the door open he saw Layla standing there, her midnight black hair was tossed into a messy bun, and her gray eyes were rimmed in red.
"What's wrong?" He asked hastily ushering her inside tucking Layla close to his side. She shook her head sobbed. "Layla, talk to me." He asked softly pushing a few stray strands from her forehead.
"He isn't going to tell her is he?" She coughed slightly as her gaze trailed upwards to meet Zach's.
"Who? Doyle?" Layla nodded silently as she swiped the tears from her eyes. "I don't know, why?"
"Because if she knew she may not want to go back to Julliard. He hasn't marked her yet, has he?" Zach shook his head causing Layla to gasp again. "I want her to dance, she's wanted that since we were little. But I want her to find someone that makes her happy."
"Layla, this isn't our decision we just have to respect whatever Doyle chooses for the two of them. It's his secret to tell. Even though you're not a werewolf, you still have to follow the orders of the Alpha and Omega. And Doyle is the Omega." Zach shrugged his shoulder clearly admitting defeat in the subject. "I think he should tell her, but our utmost purpose in life is to provide our mate with as much happiness as physically possible. And if that means he has to give her up so she can reach her dream, then he'll do it."
"You mean he wouldn't wait for her?"
"It's not that easy, honey. It's very hard, practically painful when we are separated from our mates for long periods of time. Though right now it's not nearly as strong as it would be if he claimed her by now. But once you've been bonded with your mate, it's almost like torture, well at least it is for us." Layla nodded as she understood the pain he endured each time she left his side.
Just then Doyle's bedroom door opened and out strutted the Omega. Layla could hear the shower running from inside the room and knew that it must be Andy getting cleaned up. "Hey Layla." Doyle waved nonchalantly as he launched himself over the back of the couch landing expertly in the cushions.
"Hey Doyle." Layla gave Zach a sad expression as she looked over at Doyle. Zach sighed heavily then lead her over to sit down on the couch.
"Doyle, where's Andy?" Zach questioned.
"In the shower, she seemed a bit distraught and said she wanted a few minutes alone. Why?"
"We need to talk."
"Uh oh. I don't like those words together in a sentence." Doyle sat up leaning on his elbows that were placed on his knees. "What's up, Zach?"
"Are you going to tell her or claim her?" He didn't have to mention her name for Doyle to understand who he was referring to.
"Honestly, I don't know."
"What about when she goes back to Julliard, I don't say might because I know she will. Whenever Andy puts her mind to something she always achieves her goals. So what about when she goes to Julliard, what are you going to do?" Layla asked quietly hoping she didn't overstep her bounds.
"I don't know. There isn't a manual on how to deal with the trials and tribulations of having a mate who wouldn't be happy with me unless she was dancing at one of the top schools in the country that just happens to be hundreds of miles from me." Doyle's head slumped forward and fell into his hands. Sighing heavily he rubbed his temples as he felt a headache coming on from all the questions he needed to answer and answer soon.
