What If I Loved You?

Lance laughed as he walked down the hallway with Keith. "Yeah, you know I just really love him!" Lance's smile faltered just a bit. "Really?" Keith nodded with a small smile on his face. "He's amazing." Lance looked at the ground. "Yeah Shiro's a great guy." Keith slightly swayed. "You know I might just ask him out!" Lance snapped his head up. "What?" Keith sighed in dream land at the moment. Completely forgetting that Lance was there. Lance sighed sadly. "What if I love you?" Keith slightly furrowed his brows, still Fantasizing about Shiro. "I wouldn't care." He stated bluntly shrugging his shoulders. "I only love Shiro so what would your love mean to me?" Lance looked at the ground, disappointed and hurt. "Right. Yeah go for it! Ask him out!" He said with a chuckle. Masking the actual pain he was feeling at the moment. Keith bounced. "Thanks! See you later Lance!" Lance just sighed and waved at him sadly.
Of course he wouldn't stand a chance against Shiro.
Shiro was so much better than him.
Shiro wasn't annoying.
Shiro wasn't dumb.
Shiro wasn't ugly.
Shiro wasn't weak.
Shiro was basically everything that Lance felt he wasn't. He, to Lance, was his undoing. Lance would soon find himself in the older man's shadow. He would find himself beginning to falter on the path to success. Lance wouldn't be able to understand anything. He would be silent. He would be slow. He would soon die on a mission to save the universe just as he had been trained to do.

This isn't like hate on Shiro. I just didn't know what to post. This wasn't supposed to be like Klance either. It's just Lance feeling like he's just not good enough and he would compare himself to Shiro which will cause his death later on.
