Stephew One shots

April Fools?

Soon. Soon the child that I have been growing inside me will come out into the world. These past few days I have been reflecting on the experience of being pregnant. One of my favorite moments was telling Matthew. It was April first when I found out. I had a sneaking suspicion when I started noticing changes in my body. It was acting differently than normal. The pregnancy test confirmed it. I was so excited! 

I rushed down the stairs that morning. I was filled to the brim with excited energy. I was filled with joy as I knew Matthew would be when I told him the news. How would I tell him? Would he be as excited as I am? I debated for a while on how to tell him. I decided in the end to not do anything elaborate. I would just tell him. I grabbed some breakfast and went into the live-streaming room where everyone was. 

 Inside were Matthew, Chris, and Jason planning for the GTLives that would be coming up. The rest of our staff hadn't shown up for the day.

"Good morning!" I said entering into the room.

"Morning Steph!" Matthew said walking over to me and giving me a hug.

Chris and Jason also gave greetings as I entered the room. It wasn't long before we set to work for the day. Matthew and I sat next to each other writing scripts for some upcoming theories. Chris and Jason were preparing for some upcoming GTLives.

"How are you doing this morning Stephanie?" Matthew asked with a joyful smile.

"I'm doing pretty well! Let's see I had some breakfast, found out I am pregnant, and am almost done with this script." I said as casually as possible waiting for Matthew's reaction.

"That's an awesome April fools joke, Steph!" Matthew said in between spirts of his dolphin-like laugh. 

Jason and Chris who over heard the conversation also started to laugh. I grabbed Matthew's hands that were resting on his keyboard. I placed them on my stomach and looked up at him with tears in my eyes.

"Matthew, this is no joke. You are going to be a dad." I insisted.

Matthew immediately stopped laughing giving me a look of awe.

"Oh my goodness! Wait! Your serious?" Matthew asked staring at his hands.

"Yes." I replied simply.

From that moment on we were happy to have this little child to be growing within me. We were going to be parents! We are going to strive to be the best parents we can be. Only a few days before we meet him. We already love him so much. We can't wait.
