Warning: This one-shot is supposed to be more funny and silly than anything else. Although in writing it became more serious than anything else. Do not read on if you aren't a fan of FNAF (Five Nights at Freddy's.) Also AU because why not?

After Matthew quit his dream job of working in theater, it had been hard for us to get on our feet. I worked a job I absolutely hated and Matthew spent his day sending in application after application to job after job trying to find someone to hire him. He ended up getting a job at a local pizzeria. He was taking the night shift which would mean I didn't really get to see him as he was usually asleep when I got up and was gone before I got home. What I didn't know was the job Matthew took was like something out of a horror game. I thought it was weird that a pizzeria wanted someone for a night shift as security guard but I didn't think that much about  it. Not until the end of the week.

Matthew came stumbling through the door. He looked exhausted, drained, and disheveled. He came in panting, sweating, and crying.

"Matthew! Are you okay?" I asked rushing over to him and giving him a hug.

He did not reply verbally. Instead he wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me as close to him as humanly possible. He buried his face in between my neck and shoulder as he cried. He was trembling in my arms and I had no clue why. I did my best to whisper that everything was okay to him over and over.

We stayed like that for a while. Both of us standing in the middle of our small apartment. Eventually he did calm down just enough for me to pull him to the couch.

"Matthew?" I asked in as quiet a voice I could muster staring into his eyes.

"That pizzeria really did something to me. Stephanie, I came into contact with ghosts of dead kids who had been murdered." Matthew informed me quietly staring at his hands which were now folded in his lap.

"What are you talking about?" I asked in disbelief.

"There was a missing children's accident that happened in the Freddy Fazbears history. A sick twisted man named William Afton would kill these poor kids and stuff them into suits or try to turn their souls into remnant." Matthew explained slowly. He seamed to be picking his words carefully as though he wanted to best describe the horrors without breaking me.

"How did you know?" I asked.

"I am a theorist. It is my job to figure out the world around me." Matthew replied looking into my eyes with pride. "I started to dig around and my life has been forever changed."

"What did you do Matthew?" The words slipped out through my mouth before I could process them.

"I saved them. I gave them their happiest day. Afton is long dead by now. I meet his son Michael Afton who helped me put his friends and siblings at rest." Matthew said giving weak laughs. "I spent five nights in horror so I could give these kids the love, happiness, and light they so deserved."

"Was it that bad?" I asked.

"Well, night one was the worst. They kept trying to kill me. They have the worst set up at this pizzeria! Like why do doors have batteries!? They shouldn't have batteries! While I wasn't working or sleeping on day two I researched and called up Michael. Stephanie, what I learned about these murders is worse than I could ever explain. Day three Michael and I started to plan to set these spirits free. So days three through five I spent with these children who went from crazy killer robots to these kids that I love with all my heart. I got to know them Steph! We gathered all the kids in one place at put them to rest with a birthday party. For the first time they were safe and happy. They had no reason to be angry."

"That sounds like crazy week." I  said giving him a soft smile.

"Yeah. It was five nights at a crazy pizzeria." Matthew said pulling me into a hug.

From then on Matthew was changed for the better. He became a detective sworn to help and protect children from becoming lost angry souls like what happened to the kids in Freddys.

Long time no post! Hey everyone! Sorry about that. I have been insanely busy as of late. This story was in my drafts waiting to be completed for forever! Tell me what you all think! I also want to thank everyone! This book is #8 in the GTLive ranking. That is AMAZING! I never would have imagined that. Thanks! It has inspired me to keep writing because I was debating on quitting.  It has given me more hope than you can ever imagine.  I can never thank you enough! Well I got to run! Thanks again! ~Gem
